Such a lovely video. People often tell me my plants look perfect, but truth is I am always trimming them and checking on them in a daily basis. I have a lot of time to dedicate for my plants and I am so grateful. It's all about how much time you have to dedicate to your plants.

I think i overwater my plants, i think they call it "loving my plants too much" i need a plants that needs water everyday and my attention everyday because i look at them everyday, you know how people watch fish in a tank ? I do that with my plants i stare and stare until i notice they need somethibg like a leaf remove or water lol

@@yocomment4707 you can give plants attention everyday... By trimming them, misting them, propagating them, adding a humidifier, repotting, cleaning leaves, giving them showers (not the same as watering).... LOL believe me once you have over 100+ plants you get overwhelmed by giving them attention everyday that you start neglecthin them on a bad day. Just get a bunch of plants and you will see how much attention they need every day lol

I love your channel SO much!! Always to clear in what you're teaching, and to the point. I honestly love/adore the small language mixups/mishaps every once in a while, and think it's a touch of your personality showing when you correct yourself in just trying to be as clear and helpful as you can. Thank you SO much for always breaking everything down to simple steps and thoroughly explaining everything you're doing and showing us. You're so incredibly helpful, and my green children have improved so much since taking on many of your tips :) Much love from Texas!!

I can’t shower my plants or use a hose because where I live the city puts fluoride, chlorine and other nasty chemicals in our water system. I will however continue to use a microfibre cloth that has been soaked in distilled water to wipe off my plants. (I buy distilled water in small jugs from my grocery store). LOVE ALL your videos, very informative. Thank you.

But I've vowed to be almost brutal with the spearmint that I just potted or else it goes crazy! *You asked for suggestions on what plants to do videos on.... How about Platycerium bifurcatum "Netherlands"? As I live in Florida I will have the option of hanging it outside but would love to try growing it indoors. Thank you for this video. I am sure you are right about wiping the leaves, but that is impractical for me with 120 plants, many with small leaves. Also, my water is too hard for showering. I don't want white calcium spots on my leaves, so I just give them a rainwater spray whenever. I had moderate success with Neem oil. Spider mites were repelled but returned in weeks. I had much more success with MissOrchidGirl's recipe: 1% paraffin oil in water with a bit of dish soap as an emulator. My Alocasia, Monstera and Fatsia are now free of spider mites and they had a great shine from the oil for months. It will likely kill some delicate plants though.

Good day. Why do you not use neem oil and soap during the wiping process? Is the reason similar to why we do not use "leaf shine" products? That it will collect debris and clog the stomata? I have several plant that I want to clean in the way you describe, but I was thinking it might be a good idea to add some neem oil and soap to the water as a prophylactic.

.. 1 liter of water, 1 good tea spoon of neem oil, 5-10 drops of peppermint oil, 2-3 drop of dish soap and a good shake.. Spray on plant as in all over the plant and the top soil (until top soil is soaked) once a week for about 1 month.. You only see the adult pests, but you never see their eggs and larvae hidden in the soil.. You get them from overwatering, most of the times, and they spread to your other plants too.. And then you have a whole lot of trouble.. No mater what plant you might have, they need to dry out half way through before you water.. And never leave them standing in water as that will give the pests perfect conditions to live and spread.. I wish you all the best of luck 🤗

Many big box stores in US actually don't allow staff to care for plants. They DO require daily watering of all indoor plants. Directives from mgmt, not usually from someone who knows plant needs. Trimming can get one fired, really.

I check all plants as often I can. Isolate the ones with pests in the bathroom. Spray them with soap/oil solution every other day in the bathtub. Thoroughly. All the other non-quarantine pests, and previously-quarantine plants I spray or shower once a week. It's hard work but I will conquer the thrips this time. I learned that you think they're gone but they are not. This time I will not lower my guard but keep my suspicious eyes wide open. Magnified on the phone is helpful.
