Michael Laverty when did RVW get away from mega dollars? No one is forcing anyone to buy from a particular manufacturer. The market share reflects the value of the product here. It’s not like they are the only engine builder/tuners that are winning. You don’t have to buy a Proline engine and their support, you can just buy an engine. You don’t have to buy a Proline engine to win. Proline has had a big impact on the progression of these cars, employs a lot of good people, and has enabled the racers that choose them to achieve a lot. What do you want to do, ban them because they bust ass and built a great company? Go start a company and compete

Ay man the shits still around. My godfather ran Pro-modified and eventually RVW. and he ended up with the world record for fastest door slammer on the planet and it was a blower car. Before that he ran a nitrous car. And history repeats itself. I run RVW and Pro-Modified with a blown-methanol 68 Nova SS being my choice for RVW. And a nitrous 55 Studebaker President for Pro-modified. Neither of which are as I've told you the "conventional" 548x Proline hemi twin 98"/Procharger P-1x/D-1x. Hell a friend and fellow RVW racer north of me here in Texas is running a 383sbc with a blower. Its wonderful the playground we've built ourselves is so vast. Everything from the old school Big displacement Big nitrous kit cars to our newer 481-632ci range turbo/supercharger cars. Trust me. I understand RVW and Pro-modified are a rich mans game and every motherfucker with some money can buy a engine/power adder combo that makes 2500hp of the "assembly floor" on the internet. But guess what. My godfather was no oil tycoon. He was a poor fucking hillbilly who worked his ass into the ground just to build a series of tubes with essentially a 100% bondo body kit. And he made shit happen. He was a sign of the progress we had made. Just I am. I'm no rich man. I'm a fucking modest pharmacist who owns a mom and pop pharmacy in a town with a population of 6000. From 18 to 29 I worked manual labor during school, holding a job as a pharm tech, then a pharmacist. Till I opened my own business. Every penny that didnt go in my belly or my wifes and wasnt the difference between having working lights or not went into my cars. And here I am now. Big money will always be in racing. But you cant pay enough money in the world to know how to cut a perfect light, stay in the groove, know when it's time to let off even if it means I might not win so the car lives to fight another day, and when all the cards are on the table you know who worked for the steering wheel in there hands and who bought that bitch. You dont need the top of the line product or whatever everyone else is running. You just gotta show up and prove you make your shit run tight like a noose and will drop the hammer on the mmotherfucker staged next to you when its crunch time. Everyone shows up to have fun and win. I just happen to do it in style rather then imitation.
