I taught a memory retrieval class in our mental health facility for elderly Alzheimer's clients. I would put on songs from their generation and wow would they wake up... " Do you remember when you heard this song (Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy - Andrews Sisters) first? " "At the YMCA dance on Broadway in 1942... I met my first husband that night. " And would all get them talking. Amazing what they could remember. I would work my way through the years through music and dance. I loved seeing their minds come to life as they remembered bits and pieces.

My son is 31 and I am 65 and the other day he was talking about how when he was around 2 he remembers me dancing and doing step aerobics on my stepper with him on my hip to music by Roxette and other great bands. I taught myself to BELLYDANCE in 1983 after my daughter was born.... to get in shape again and I lost all the baby weight in less than 3 months! I still love to dance and my mom used to dance with me on her hip when I was young too! Blame it on the Bossa Nova was one song I remember so well thanks to her! I had to watch brought tears I held my mothers hand as she took her last breaths to be with the LORD. This woman looks and acts like my mother. Her older brother used to sneek her into the dance halls because she loved to dance so much. My mother would just break out dancing just like her. Thank you for that.
