My first memory of this song was driving in the car with my dad when I was young, maybe 8 years old. My dad is a very quiet and reserved man, a listener rather than a speaker. As soon as this song came on he didn’t say a word he just turned it up and belted out the whole song. One of my favourite memories I cherish. Id never seen my dad that into anything before that day. I’ve never seen him belt out/sing a song since. I doubt he even remembers it. But he said every word perfectly, even the intro at the start haha. I had absolutely no clue what was going on but it was certainly awesome. Shoutout dad he knows I love him :)

@Retro Blue with you 1000...% -- NEVER anyone like our Fabulous Four, nor will there EVER be. I cannot get enough of our SWEET -- beyond words -- I cannot imagine my life without them!!! And, yes, very grateful for all Andy does to keep the legendary SWEET so alive and well. And for our dear Brian, Mick, and most recently and far too suddenly gone, our dear Steve -- missing them is the understatement of a lifetime. Hopefully you were able to see the beautiful livestream of the Memorial Bench Unveiling ceremony for Steve that took place on February 23, 2022. If you didn't, you'll find it on YT. More than beautiful to see. Thank God we live in an age where we are blessed to hear their iconic voices and see their priceless performances and videos at the tap of a finger.

MUCH LOVE! There are very few openings of songs that I enjoy "singing/saying" as much as this. The tone of Brian's voice is, and I mean this in a totally hardcore, badass , rock-and-roll way, ADORABLE. It sounds like he's the leader of a pack of boys checking if they're ready to go out on an adventure. I like to think that they did go out on an adventure later that day, and they found a trove of German-looted art and gold from the war and returned it to my relatives. #SlavaUkraini

I am 58 and realise now that this fantastic band were my introduction to heavy rock nearly 50 years ago . Literally years ahead of their time in terms of guitar sound , vocals and image .

That was the best group for me when I was young. I was born in 1963. And such a great rhythm. When I was 13, I always listened to it with my brother and we drummed along and acted as if we were playing the drums. I saw Sweet again at a gig, but not all of the original singers were there. Just Andy Scott. The concert wasn't bad, but it was different than if the original singers had been there. I would like to see the time back again. ...

Když mi bylo 13, vždycky jsem to poslouchal s bratrem a bubnovali jsme spolu a chovali se, jako bychom hráli na bicí. Viděl jsem Sweet znovu na koncertě, ale nebyli tam všichni původní zpěváci. "The Ballroom Blitz" is a song written by Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman and recorded by British rock group The Sweet in 1973. Billboard ranked the song No. 16 for 1975. The Ballroom Blitz was recorded at the International Audio Studio, 18 Rodmartin Street, London. It was produced by Phil Wainman and drummer Mick Tucker who used a Wainman drum on the recording. This song was inspired by an incident on January 27, 1973, when the band The Sweet was playing at the Great Hall in Kilmarnock, Scotland and had been chased off the stage by bottle shots by fans.

When I was a kid - 10 or so - I heard this and died. Every year for several years afterward, I called my local radio station on my birthday and requested it and they always obliged (kiddies, this was way before the days where you could hear your favorite song at the touch of a finger). It never gets old. One of the all-time greatest rock songs.

Some of the best music ever came from the 70's and 80's. Ballroom Blitz is one of my favourites. I couldn't have sat so still as the audience did lol. RIP Steve Priest

The best band ever heard and seen .I'd never thought that their influence after so many years is growing bigger .. In my childhood I felt their power and nowadays I'm conviced to listen to four top musicans with very special and individuel abilities. Thank you and getting kissed by the sweet muse!

This video is so far ahead of its time. With the (seemingly live) effects of having a moving and growing/shrinking circle video (playback) overlay (admittedly, not very deftly controlled) over the live footage of the studio audience sitting in seriously dimmed lighting with TVs set into the wall, surrounded by orange ovals. I didn't know the technology for such an effect existed in 73.

si fueron reconocidos por hay en la época de los 80' a finales de los 90' bajaron popularidad pero aun siguen haciéndose conciertos talvez con su canción en la peli de suicide squad vuelvan a alzar su popularidad

Style Of Wwe Jajajaja la banda la conozco por mi papa ya que es una de sus favoritas y esas musica la escucho desde muy pequeño tipo 4 a 5 años entonces sabia que eran hombres pero nunca los vi hasta de grande cuando empece a usar youtube , al principio se me hicieron raros pero como escuchaba a david bowie y michael jackson y queen entre otros artistas con ese estilo androgeno se me hizo normal al ratico jaja

+Sebastian Tovar ohhh enserio? jaja esta banda la conozco por hay hace unos 4 años y desde ahí los escucho,en donde vivo (colombia) no se escucha casi este tipo de musica, la mayoría escuchan reggaeton, champeta y otros generos que no tienen nada que ver con lo que me gusta jaja, suelo escuchar mas que todo metal,eso si me gusta todos sus sub-géneros, pero claro, también me gusta el buen rock, en especial el de las bandas antiguas.

Desolation Boulevard... Man what an album. I was just a kid, however my Sister was a teenager then and bought all the good rock records. This came out at a time when Pop was hitting the radio stations, so it was a really good change.
