I remember this guy doing a concert at a park in Pleasanton, CA a long time ago. I think I still have one of his "Can't Look Back" guitar picks from that show. Fun times.

Montoya uses carr slant 6v amps and boy does he get an amazing sound. I like it .

He's the real deal. Maybe one thing is that he played so long with Albert Collins. Very interesting and true about what he says about playing what you feel. But it is not only that it takes the technical ability with the instrument. Rather you have to feel it right. That does not only mean you have to understand the music, i.e. what makes the music grip the listener emotionally. It also takes the ability to put that into your playing. Very few of those idolized european players have that including most of those who went threw Bluesbreakers to the extent Coco does have it. He picked it up.

I play a few of Coco's songs. His lix hooked me on the first listen. And Mitch Gallagher is a fine guitarist in his own right. Neither one of these guys have to "back up to the pay window", and that makes for an interesting interview.

Would like him to put out a DVD. An amazing musician. Going to see him in Ft. Wayne tomorrow night.
