Mia D. : He literally said in an interview that he knew the group would do well but he purposely didn't promote them well so no other male can get to his "now" wife. He also said (himself) that they were secretly dating for 9 years and didn't want to put their relationship in public or hold a wedding bc the thought of marrying each other in front of people is embarrassing. He also stated that while he was dating her, they never did much together bc he was putting business first and only started paying attention to her when she got pregnant. It's not "rumors" , YG said it himself.

James Zhang That’s because YG didn’t want the group and the girls to succeed because he felt that if Lee Eun-Joo (a member who’s now his wife) will get famous and forget him so he ignored the group and didn’t want them to do well.
