This very early and rare clip of the Swift Home Service Club is from 1947, prior to the wide use of kinescope recording to preserve live shows. No complete film recordings of programs from 1947 are known to have survived, although audio recordings exist for several early TV programs.
The Swift Home Service Club (debut May 1947) is credited with being the first sponsored daytime network TV show. Described as "a new daytime TV show that blended the homemaker, fashion, and talk shows", it featured homemaker tips and interviews, with topics such as interior decorating, kitchen ideas, and cooking. The show ran for about a year and was hosted by Tex McCrary and Jinx Falkenberg.
