I don’t even play WoW but that gameplay with the green screen effect on ur orb weaver & mouse plus the choice of music has to be one of the best pieces of gameplay content I’ve ever seen produced. Bravo!

I use my orb-weaver completely different. i use the thumb D-pad to move and all other keys as abilities... Then i use a mod like Bartender dominions or elvui to modify the way the keys are displayed like the weaver so i can have a visual representation on the screen for abilities. At this moment i probably dont need that anymore, but it still have it that way. My top button on the thumb is Alt, space bar is Crtl - and button 1 on the mouse is my jump.

It would be awesome if they made a mouse like that razor orbweaver. That would have all those buttons on top and you could move it around like a mouse. I have mmo mouses with the ten keys on the side but I don't like them much. The ten keys are too small and feel awkward to use with my thumb.

I use the top row primarily for CC. It’s the same on every character and every class, so I always know where my CCs are. The second and third rows from the top are my primary buttons. And from there I can easily go up or down one row and access all buttons. I also use one button on the Orbweaver as the modifier for the Naga. People don’t realize how OP this setup is. And every time I try to explain it to someone they dismiss it and explain how their keyboard setup works for them. They don’t get it.

What keyboard have you got? I've got Razer Anansi Keyboard and a Razer Naga Mouse. Might get the Orbweaver Chroma. I Looked at the price and I thought ..."Oh.". I stretch my fingers with q,e, r f. Then my stuns + extra abilities with T1, T5, T2, T3, T4 and T7.

I've been stressing lately because I want a new set up but my left pinky finger has been broken and bent for 15 years after I almost chopped it off with a hedge trimmer (semi intentionally)! Seeing you being able to use and adore this device with a missing pinky has really eased my anxiety, I'll get one. Thanks!

I hated PvP because of the inability to hit all the combinations I needed in a quick enough manner, but I've been looking for something like this and, I'm seriously glad I came across your video. Dunno if this was possible when he made the video, but you can do the heroic leap macro in WoW and don't need to use razor synapse. Simple put /cast [@cursor] Heroic Leap. This is also really good for aoe dps abilities like flamestrike for mages. /cast [@cursor] Flamestrike allows you to speed up your dps and make it so you don't have to click the left mouse button.

Really enjoyed your video. I use my orbweaver like a quotron machine with hotkeys for trading stocks. I certainly don't know everything there is about binding commands so I hope you don't mind if at a later date I could ask some questions in order to become more proficient. I am also waiting on my Naga to add more versatility for added commands. keep up the good work.

I agree with you in almost all cases, as doing that gives like 5-6 extra easy reachable buttons times however many multipliers you have. However in swifty's case as he can't reach the modifiers with his pinky I think that this is the optimal setup because he can use his other fingers. Its explained in the video whatever. But its bloody cost effective mate, but swifty doesn't have to pay either cuz he's sponsored,

I was struggling trying to move with the small joystick and putting the spells on the keypad. mouse was for targeting enemy/party. Instead secret is using qwes to move and use the joystick as a reliable modifier to multiply the spells on the 12 buttons mouse. Basically u use other fingers to move and only the thumbs to select and cast spells. Stronger fingers on the casting, all the others to the move/camera. Basically both the movement and the casting are divided on the two hands that collaborate while thumbs shoot. Brilliant. Thanks buddy!!!!

Yes but you cant expect your character to walk in 360 degree angle, you will still move as if it was awsd, it works exactly like a D-pad so when you click A and W at the same time youll be walking in a 45 degrees between A's and W's direction

Lel o you can bind ctrl with most keys on the keyboard not needed to be a number, but just made this test when i put my hand on my 1,2,3 numbers on my blackwidow i can actually exactly press CTRL with the bottom end of my pinkie, exactly the part that he actually has...

Yes thumb for alt, me too. My ergonomic calibration person at work told me that was horrible for long term use and would damage your hand. I'm going to try to stop but it's hard :(

I think it has to do with me keeping my four fingers on home row while bending thumb under my palm to hit alt. It's not a natural move for a thumb and I can kind of see how it might be bad for prolonged use maybe.

Great video! Yes, the keyboard has not changed much. The reason the keyboard is staggered is because the format comes from typewriters, and they needed to make sure the keys that stamp the page did not get caught with each other. Therefor, the regular keyboard really isn't attuned to the human hand - new ergonomic keyboards are though, and like the Orb Weaver, have the keys in line with the fingers, and give more responsibility to your thumbs.

Necro'ing this thread. You missed a trick here. That thumb key isn't for just 4/8 buttons, it's to bind your movement keys to. So all movement is now controlled by your thumb. That now leaves all those lovely buttons to bind to your action bar, with the furthest left bound to tab target, shift, alt, jump. Under your 12 action bar buttons are 3 keys, can bind to stances, forms, or target symbols. You now have all movement and 3 action bars on just your Tarterus or Orbweaver. Your Naga buttons are now free for alternate uses - healers go crazy with your down ranked spells without having to fill up your action bars.

I have used the keypads since razer started creating them . I also use the naga . Awesome vid bro

I bought one of the original models for the Orb weaver. I was so ingrained with keyboard gaming that I couldn't transition over to the keypad. I wish there was videos out like this one back then. I am sure I would have been successful in changing over from keyboard. But no one I knew had one and I couldn't really get a good feel for where things should be positioned. But for anyone out there thinking of getting one of these. I would recommend doing BGs and PvP non-rated to get your muscle memory going. I hate to be that guy but its easier to not care in a rando BG what your performance will be like. Because your end goal is to get muscle memory to kick in. And PvP is great for doing that. Maybe I will buy another one someday and give it another shot. Thanks Swifty for making this video.

You did a video years ago about how you assigned shift and control etc to your mouse, and I've been using that for a long time now. It's completely freed up my left hand to focus on movement.

hey mate.. i also have a razer naga first gen kai razer nostromo the first month they came to the market.... i really really enjoy them since now... even if i dont play anymore i always find a way to use their potentials to my work... px photosphop, 3d animation, browsing, (i remember my 3-4 -5 try-outs on streaming stuff to bind them with cameras changes and layouts) . cheers.. keep up

Agree with most everything, except that your thumb only uses the space key...I use the "C" key for crouch in all fps, and "V" for prone or crouch in some games. =) Great video Swifty! Thanks!!
