After creating the container, click on the simulation and there is no water coming out. Is it missing a few steps?

I'm having an issue getting the simulation to produce anything with that sample scene you provided, it just keeps going to each frame doing nothing. Ok I figured it out. the box where the water simulation will be created isn't in the file, we have to manually create it. Also I don't understand how you were able to simply create the water simulation without also creating a pf water source to attach to the box. This is very confusing.

You don't need to use a simulation. Just make the box of Phoenix FD, and choose "ocean cap". Then use the Phoenix Ocean texture for the displacement and caustics. Using a simulation just for this is just a waste of time.

Tim forgive my ignorance I know very little about PhoenixFD. But for the sake of the tutorial, I'm just trying to follow the workflow and understand the basic mechanics of this program. With that said, what do you mean by "make the box of PhoenixFD"? Are you referring to toolbar called, "an ocean sim for the selected objects." Or is it something else? Secondly, where is the option "ocean cap" located? Sorry if I sound like a rookie, because I am :p

@@iamski You follow the tutorial, except you don't need to simulate anything for this simple pool. You make the Phoenix FD "box", and in the render settings, you select "ocean cap", and "ocean" as an option. That will produce a mesh in the middle of the box. And in the render rollout in the displacement section, you add the "phoenix OceanTexture" that you will find in the material editor. That will make the water "live" as if it was simulated. But much better because you can have almost infinite details in it, instead of having to simulate for a long time. For simplicity, just search "Phoenix Ocean Texture" in youtube, and you'll find several tutorials for it.

@ 15:38 not the motion inertia but increasing the steps to 4 decreases the waves. Higher than that will reduce it more but at the cost of simulation time.

Missing some big steps there dude. You had a water container and you showed nothing about its properties. You then went and created a Liquid Simulator and voila, your water container was full of water ?? I might be wrong but you might have needed to set the Phoenix properties of that box to Initial Fill Up but you didn't show that step. Some how miraculously your swimming pool was just full of water.....

Hello good afternoon. I did and redid the tutorial and unfortunately I can't get past the first part, there's no way to understand exactly how the water was created in the geometry.

Sorry need to record that, basically I made a box inside the pool - right click convert into Phoenix liquid, that’s how I got the water..

Great channel, glad I found it. Have you come across a way to make a nice dense set of clouds in the sky? I know there is a material based one.. but wondering if this is on your todo list at some point also :)

hello bro, thanks for sharing your knowledge, hopefully you can help me, I think the liquid simulator but the water does not appear on the screen or in the render. Do you have to configure the box used for simulation?

@@VRaySchool Thank you very much, I already got it, great your channel, thanks for sharing. hey one more question, I made your tuto of the jate in the ocean, and it came out very well, my question is, how can I give up on distributed? I've never been able to distribute Phoenix, what I tried was to save the scene as a file and open it in other machines, but the animation doesn't recognize me, just the boat and the lights. What is the correct way to take the scene to other pcs?
