Everyone here needs to understand that not everyone uses the same terms as people in America do. In America these are called limes. In other places these are called lemons, green lemons, limas, limón, etc. not everyone needs to be American. There is no “wrong” name for this.

Whatever it is called...i made it with 2 large lemons, a couple cups of ice, a can of sweetened condensed milk, and 4 small scoops of vanilla bean ice cream... it's delicious...lemon meringue milk shake... new favorite summer icecream

In Brazil those are called "Taihitian lemons", despite being planted in our own territory. They are abundant and cheap. It's the one you want to create Brazilian alcoholic beverages, such as Caipirinha and Maria-Mole. The yellow one, which you Americans know simply as lemons, we call "Sicilian lemons", and are more expensive and not as common as the other one. Another very popular one in the countryside is the "pink lemon" or "devil's lemon". It's orange, resembles a small tangerine and it's not as bitter or citric as the other two. It's actually kind of sweet, like if you mix lemons with a little bit of orange.

By the way, in Brazil we don't call it "Brazilian lemonade". We call it "Swiss lemonade". I guess in Switzerland they use another name too, like "Mongolian lemonade" or some s*** like that. 😅

The peels aren’t entirely bitter. The outermost layer is actually fine - that’s where the zest comes from. It’s the inner layer of white pith that’s bitter. Some people say it’s a perfectly fine amount of bitterness in the drink, but if it’s too much you can zest your likes first, then cut off the pith before blending them.

@@aidapalacios6855not everyone needs to use American terminology. They are called many things like lemons, green lemons, limas, limón, lime, and so on. There are different names for different things in different cultures and you should respect that.

Both Swiss lemonade and Brazilian lemonade are correct. In Brazil they call it Swiss lemonade but other people call it Brazilian lemonade because that’s where it was invented. It also has a few other names I believe.

Those are called green lemons in different countries the term “lime” is American terminology. It is Swiss lemonade and Brazilian lemonade. People in Brazil call it Swiss lemonade (don’t ask why because I have no clue) and other people in the world call it Brazilian lemonade. With a few other names of course. Basically all of this depends purely on where you are in the world because in Brazil it’s Swiss lemonade made with green lemons.
