SOME VIDEO CORRECTIONS (Sorry about that!): - The Switch Lite is $100 *LESS* than the current model, not more. My 3rd grade math teacher would be proud. - I mention "Software on a Chip" in this video, it's actually "System on a Chip". It's a chip that has all the device's necessary parts (CPU, GPU, RAM, etc) integrated in a single circuit. Think of it like a small all-in-one motherboard for a PC, where you can't replace any parts. It's used a lot in mobile devices since they can cut down on power consumption. - Switch does have Bluetooth at the moment, just not Bluetooth audio. Forgot to say the audio part (i talked about the controllers' bluetooth in a previous Switch video) - Super Mario Party actually works in handheld mode, just tried that out. You do need an external controller to get past the first menu, though. So that should be fine! - I said Switch Mini instead of Lite a few times LOL If there's any more please let me know. Thanks for watching and I'll be back soon with more videos!

9:14 That potential audience can buy the original Switch. If the Lite was dockable, the original Switch's existence would be hindered useless especially with the pro coming. The switch lite was made for those wh are not interested on using the device on the tv and want to spend less and just wants to play the games, preferably on the go and everywhere.

The Switch Lite was pretty much what the smart people expected Also, it HAS bluetooth, its how you connect joycons and pro-controllers to it, it just doesn't have BT audio, which the OG didn't have either, considering its a portable there is less reason to need ot because you'll have it in your hands, you could make an argument for BT audio on the OG as its going to be sitting near your TV and you're probably not running a cable, although i would :P And the lite is aimed at the 3DS crew to convince them to upgrade

I bought my Switch Lite a few days ago to compliment my OG Switch which I will ALWAYS use in Tabletop mode. And I LOVE IT. Will be using my Switch Lite wherever I go and also when I'm lying on my bed. Still can't get over the fact that it's just like the Switch but smaller, in terms of resolution. In fact, I'm not sure about you, but to me the resolution on the Switch Lite seems a lot sharper, which is a good thing. I think it has to do with the pixel density which some KZfaqrs have said in their reviews, but I'm not too sure. Never use the dock and no offence intended Balrog but I hate it (the dock that is). One because I'm afraid of scratching the screen on the OG Switch, and two because it's a bit hard to use it on my TV anyway due to space.

i dont have a TV so i dont need TV mode (i just wanna play a few games like smash, odyssey, bayonetta, and donkey kong.), this basically seemed like the perfect switch for me, no need for an expensive dock i will never use, and a price that finally makes the switch worth the purchase. but the idea of if i will get one is kinda too hard for me because of HD rumble being removed... i LOVE rumble and i wanna feel the rumble (other things like the screen size doesn't matter, and the thing about the speaker position isn't needed as i always use headphones)

I had no idea about the zoom feature, thanks for that info. I really hope Nintendo revises the internet check for non-primary Switches. I'm sure a lot of families with a Switch are looking to have Switch Lites for the kids to take outside the house so it's not practical to require internet connection. Maybe a once a week check or something like that

One thing that was making me worry about getting the lite is not being able to have TV more, and the joy con drift. Cause after a year of having my ps4, I got joy con drift and had to get a new controller because I couldn't play Minecraft without ur moving by itself. But I purchased one anyway and it's coming on saturday just so I could play animal crossing and some other 1 player games. And to save me money. During this corona time. Maybe in the future around Christmas I can get the bigger switch if I feel like I want one. Especially since by then they should be stock and I can get them on easy pay from the same site I'm getirng my lite from :)

"The Switch Lite won't replace the 3DS" Technically that's correct, this isn't a GBA to DS or Wii to Wii U situation. The Switch and 3DS have no compatibility whatsoever, so the 3DS still has a library of games worth marketing to, not to mention free online and virtual console.
@chillplayer12345 жыл бұрын
Igorowan Except the 3DS DOES NOT have still have a library of games worth marketing more, the marketing will be for the Switch. Not a dead date system. Everyone moved on and the Switch Lite replaces the 3DS. It also wasn’t at E3 and will be discontinued in a couple months.

hmm an important console piece having afaulty joystick that wont last the console's life span. i ran in to that problem with the wiiu's left stick. guess what? there was literally no option to get that fixed other than to do it yourself, and there are TOO MANY loose parts in the game pad, but i did replace the stick and it still works to this day. meanwhile the joycon cant see the system through the body fat or the blood in my hand. you know a hand, that thing you need to use a controller. also i cant find a fix for the detection problem...

I think the Switch Lite is gonna sell quite a lot honestly (with the cheaper price as the primary reason). I have a few non-gamer friends that are considering getting a Switch, but they've noted the $300 price as the main reason for not getting one. As a side note, I'm curious about the Joy Con drifting issue and whether or not they're using better controls sticks for the Lite. I haven't had either of my two Joy Con sets start drifting (probably because I mostly play docked with a Pro Controller), but I hope Nintendo gets that taken care of nonetheless. Edit (2022): Well, it didn't quite fly off the shelves. Also, my non-gamer friends either still haven't bought one or just got a regular Switch.

@Skratch Rapture Works perfectly fine actually I did some research into this and it seems the Virtual Console actually has a few DS games on it for download on the WIi U Gamepad. (tho I would just use emus on the Wii U and use your own carts/collection) The only game I can think of that would be weird is phantom hourglass with the screen fold gimmick. That said honestly most DS games didn't really have art styles that scaled well to a bigger resolution compared to the GBA.

As someone who primarily play portable games and doesn't already own a Switch, this seems like a great option. I see it a lot like how the 2DS appealed to portable gamers who don't care about the 3D feature and just want a more affordable system. The size of the console wouldn't be much of a problem because I don't really bring my games with me while traveling. Obviously, it wouldn't be beneficial to purchase this console if you already have the original Switch unless you are a collector.

@Chariblaze5 жыл бұрын
I haven't gotten a Switch yet, so $200 + possibly refined build quality is tempting. I wondered what I would do if I got an original Switch for TV play, but that's good to know there's a decent way to use multiple systems at the same time. Even games blacklisted from cloud save, neat. I was worried Nintendo saying "You'll be able to transfer your save data" meant "Sure, if you do a complete system transfer". In a way it's completely ridiculous to buy one Switch specifically for handheld use and one for TV use, but that might be where we end up. :X Honestly though no HD Rumble is a bummer. I really liked how it felt in a brief Mario Kart demo I tried. And no option whatsoever for TV output is huh. Holding out hope for a niche accessory hub thing they throw up on the Nintendo Store site someday.

My switch has never had any cracking plastic on the vent area or drifting joy cons.The reasoning for nintendo cutting the tv mode is because the sales of the OG switch would drop if they can play the games and pay only $200 instead of $300 the consumer's would just buy the LITE hence there reasoning is valid for handheld only.

i think the idea was to make the console more open to 3rd party devs, think about them having to rework their game's save system, giving less room on the cartridge for the game itself. alternatively they could have packed in an sd card and that could have been the only way to save stuff. idk.

@CerealBox645 жыл бұрын
I see the point come up that should any problem occur with the joysticks in particular, you have to send the whole unit in for repair, and while I get it, I guess that's not a major concern considering that has been the case for all handhelds up until the Switch. Normal Switch owners would only be at an advantage here if they already happen to own more than one set of joycons prior to malfunction, and that's not the case for everyone. Ultimately, hardware malfunctions are supposed to be rare, and the only reason people are talking about it as much is due to existing issues with joycon drift, which is the real issue Nintendo needs to tackle. I sure hope they do, I have launch joycons and they're fine but it'll be a bummer if they fall victim to the same flaws.
@megamanzero295 жыл бұрын
I think the Switch Lite is exactly what Nintendo needed to do to give your people options on whether they’d want to buy a Switch. I agree with most of your concerns on the switch lite (especially the joycon drifting issue) but one thing I thought was a serious missed opportunity is: more memory included either internal or external. Ever since the switch launched I’ve always thought 32GB is way too small for a home-console or in this case a handheld system. This would have been a good opportunity to give the switch more memory like at least 64GB. Heck the 3ds XL released mid-gen and it doubled the amount of storage included compared to the original 3ds. Another thing about the switch lite (I’m not 100% certain if they confirmed this or not so anyone correct me if I’m wrong) is there at least going to be gyro sensors in the system? I wouldn’t think that’d be something they’d remove entirely but if that does happen to be true that would make games like BOTW unplayable. While I don’t see myself getting the Switch lite I appreciate the option regardless. But for anyone looking into getting the switch lite which color do you plan on getting? Gold, Silver or crystal? (If that isn’t foreshadowing for a gen 2 let’s go I don’t know what is) Edit: I probably could’ve explained this better but I when I said “unplayable” I mostly meant for games like BOTW which use the gyroscope for gameplay (such as shrines that use nothing but the gyro) that would put Switch lite users at a disadvantage or worst case being completely unable to complete said shrines.

It's cool that the Switch Lite exists, but I don't plan to get one. I mean, I already have a working Switch anyway, but even if I didn't, the docked play is just way too important for me. I do almost all of my gaming at home, and I prefer playing on a big screen

It's fricking huge, like it is still going in a case and then in my bag. I wanted a vita sized switch. If in wanted a Switch sized switch, I'd buy a Switch and not lose any of the features. No docking is a complete failure. There is no reason why there shouldn't be the option to dock. Even if I have to eat a loss in resolution and frame rate, I'd still like the option to buy a dock and controller.
