I’ve played a few levels so far and I can tell this game is dangerous. The controls are so fluid and I can see myself getting real addicted to trying to speedrun levels. It’s amazing.

@@Christophoronomicon The game's artstyle reminds me more of Knuckles' Chaotix than anything imo; there's a similar emphasis on very abstract geometry and bold colors, with lots of rich texturing to make it feel more solid.

One of my highlights of this partner showcase, along with Another crab's treasure and Ender Magnolias!! God im so excited for the last one. Anyway im so glad Penny has the switchup approval seal, im definitely gonna add it to my wishlist since it's a little bit expensive for me right now. Thank you for the review guys!!

Side note: Another Crab's Treasure is set to be released on the 25th April and I've been so excited about another Soulslike and hearing this one is really good, I am incredibly keen. Might I hope for a full SwitchUp review of it?

I didn't realize Penny was being released today!!!! This has been at the top of my wishlist for a while. I love sonic mania, and this looks like so much fun. The music reminds me a lot about sonic, which I love. So excited to play this game.

The music being like sonic could be due to the fact that the team who worked on it also did Sonic Mania (though I can’t remember if the person that did Mania’s music also did this)

Art style and heroine reminds me Mischief Makers on the 64

Her design does remind of Mischief Makers protagonist. However, the art style in general instantly made me think of how 3d renders used as cover art for early Sega Saturn games used to look. Very specific 3D aesthetic shaped by the technology limiations of the time. I'm pretty sure they aimed for that on purpose and I love the concept :)

I’d really like a Nintendo Switch demo, just because I’m really appealed by how this game looks, but I want to know how the game plays with the yoyo, getting around and whatnot. I’d be satisfied with a demo of just one stage or level, or even just part of a stage or level to simply test the controls.

I don't play platformers often anymore, and I still need to finish Mario Wonder. But this looks fun, I'll keep it in mind for the next time I'm in the mood for a new game in this genre. The art style looks so cute and I like all the character models a lot.

I've been hopelessly hooked on Balatro since it dropped yesterday, but might have to tear myself away for a bit to give this one a try. Appreciate the review. Fwiw, would love to see Balatro get a review as well. People are already calling it a contender for best roguelite of 2024 and placing it alongside greats like StS or Monster Train in terms of quality. Super addictive game with loads of depth and replayability. Some great games this week!

I adore the flip out of this game. So many subtle nods beyond Sonic here. Mario Odyssey (cause, of course ) along with the likes of Glover, Billy Hatcher, even a splash of Aero the Acrobat, looking at Penny's silhouette and theming. Hoping beyond hope that there will be an eventual physical release. I want this gem on my wall for time immortal.

I liked look of Another Crabs Adventure and the Ender Lilies sequel. Also the hd of Epic Mickey and Monster Hunter Stories. I loved MhS 2 and never played first as didn’t have 3DS. The Fantasy life game looks fun too.
