Hürlimann is probably the best-known Swiss tractor brand. Since the 1920s, Hürlimann has sold several tens of thousands of tractors in Switzerland and abroad. In 1975, following discussions with SAME, Hürlimann added five Lamborghini models to its range and in return supplied water-cooled engines to Italy. Two years later, SAME acquired a 35% stake in the company, which was transformed into a public limited company. In 1981, SAME acquired the remaining 65% of the shares. The production of Hürlimann tractors in Switzerland was discontinued in the 1980s, but Hürlimann vintage tractors are still very popular today.
