Out of curiosity, did you have to pay the import taxes to get the one you have? If so, how much did it make you bleed? I’m genuinely curious because I want to support Ola’s success, but not at the cost of outrageous import fees.

That is about all it’s worth is $500. Any of them really. I’m not impressed with solar guitars.. I watch Ola because he’s great guitar player one of the best! the solar guitars on the other hand I tried a used one guitar store and , Well all I can say is Ola is a great guitar player. I have friends with solar guitars went through horrible shipping experiences terrible quality control poor fretwork I love Ola man, but I would never buy a solar guitar from overseas. It’s basically a Washbourne guitar with solar stamped on it but that’s just my opinion. I’ve played a few of them used and was not at all impressed. The reason they’re used is because the other people didn’t like them either and they all had problems, man. Play one before you spend all that money on one at least buy it from Guitar Center that way you have a 45 day moneyback guarantee if you don’t like the guitar I guarantee you solar is not giving you your money back.

Thank you Ola for reacting on my comment. I totaly agree with your opinion. In the meantime we use an e-drumkit from drum-tec which looks like an acustic kit. Every Mixing Guy loved it. I grew up with huge drum kits in metal (Iron Maiden, KISS, Rush, etc.), and I totally embrace e-kits on stage. I think as they're adopted more and more, we're going to start hearing cool sounds from them more and more, and will soon be required live for the songs. (And I'm not talking about cheesy 80's techno blips and bleeps....I'm talking nuclear explosions and 80mm tank blasts...)

Its interesting, Slayer retired officially. And coming back to do the "big money" shows. And some of their bandmates (if not the most) were saying Metallica were commercial and all about the money. When Jason Newsted clearly stated in relatively newer interview that they have had enough of money even after And Justice tour, which is before black album. I see the new strategy for the Marshall group being similar to the way Porsche operates. They have a very famous and iconic nameplate, the 911, which gives the brand incredible cache. Using this image they move large numbers of very profitable SUVs, which in turn allows them to invest in the 911. This virtuous circle keeps Porsche profitable and maintains its credibility with the hardcore enthusiasts. Sell audio equipment, make money, invest in guitar amps, maintain cred, profit.

I miss the Marshall valvestate. The static X sound. Still have the 80 watt 1x12 combo. Its very well used. Bought it new when i was a teenager, now my teenager uses it.
