Never occurred to me to add a alternate filler cord when hitching and the decorative round turns add a great detail. Nice edit! Bravo and thanks!

BEAUTIFUL. My "hangup" would be cutting into that swordfish bill to form the handle. I probably just put it on a plaque on my wall. In the end product you did "justice" to the magnificent beast. That fish lives on in sempiternity.

I received three bills 😁 The large, 2ft bill will be a statue.

Beautiful...I like the stitch over wrap. Makes a nice break between the patterns. I'll be using that one on a few things. Learn something new every time... Thank you..

Oh great! More "Marlin Spike" vs. "Fid" confusion! LOL. Great video. Now I just need to get my hands on one of those.

Wow, excellent rope work. Im interested to see how you rejoin your cord. I will try to find the tutorial, and try to do the same. I have some bills I collected when I was fishing deep sea. Thankyou for the inspiration.

I don't know if they still do, but here in South Africa they used Kudu and Gemsbuck horn for splicing rope.

Mikko, is that bone that formed the swordfish bill? I was wondering because I priced one and was considering cutting one down to make fids in several sizes.

Yes, it is actually the upper jaw bone that forms the bill.

I can’t help but wonder how the Swordfish feels? I bet she/he never thought he’d end up on your vice? Keep up the great work, after all what are animals for anyway?

I got this from a responsible fisherman who doesn't cause unnecessary harm to his catch. Then again, when cutting trees, some wildlife is harmed even in that process. I always respect my materials and thank Mother Nature for proving them.
