SWR Classes 455 & 701compared, departing West Byfleet on 26/04/23

Жыл бұрынSWR 455901 + 455856 departing West Byfleet with the 2F50 16:33 Woking to London Waterloo which is followed, three minutes later, by 701040 on a GBRf operated test train - 5Q51 11:15 London Waterloo to Staines Up Loop, via Poole S.S., on 26/04/23
I'd like to think that, eventually, the Class 701 "Arterio's" will provide a better passenger experience, but I shall miss the sight and sound of the "good old" Class 455's. However I was surprised how similar they both sound!!

I’m pretty sure that’s a unit with the new larger cab?

I'm not sure - I've heard that the Class 701 Cabs are smaller than on the other Aventra units. Which is possibly one of the reasons, due to alterations, for the delay in getting them into service???

@@ameerali.ouarda It'a a sad state of affairs!! But at least it keeps the 455's with us for a bit (possibly quite a bit?) longer!!
