I'm a big fan of all things Lustria, but it's also on another continent. Tomb Kings would actually be geographically closer. I was hoping for a return of certain Tomb Kings models... but none of them are in the upcoming box, so no sale there either. Looks like I'll be saving my money...

You've hit the nail on the head . Although I do think you've got the Empire back to front . I think they did the new cities of sigmar to replace the old Empire models so they can re-release the old models in a new army box . I remember Cathay and Kislev being mentioned at the start of the old world , but there not even included in the new army books ! Paying 2024 prices for models that have been around since 2003 is not cool

Where is Cathay and Kislev? Very strange unless it will be a separate release.

Neither of them really have any pre-existing models from the old Warhammer Fantasy lines. It's likely that GW will only do them if Old World is a serious success. The stuff they released on WH Community was likely primarily designs intended for the Total War game.

Apparently they have several pages of fluff. We've seen the early concept work. But who knows? They're not going to put anything in the armies indexes that don't have a model that's shortly going to be released. They've actually - so I hear - thrown out stuff like the Hierotitan from the Tomb Kings book because it has no model! I'd say we're getting a Kislev ally contingent. We keep hearing about mercenaries. Wouldn't surprise me if GW knocked out some plastic Winged Lancers and Horse Archers and a resin Wizard ? Or maybe this is wild dreaming lol.. even though it's a small dream... @@solowargamer

Listening to this now I think you have been vindicated even more. At my local game stores I have not seen any Old World stuff in stock other than rule books and it seems like they are struggling to sell GW products in general. Personally I like a lot of those old miniatures but selling them at basically fully price was a typical Games Workshop cash grab and killed my interest in it

Generally the same conclusion I came to I have to say. Though we need to acknowledge as far as the best rumour monger on YT claims (Valrak) - Kislev and Cathay are well into production which seems bizarre - and note in the new Rulebook Kislev and Cathay have 4ish pages of lore. It's very odd eh? IMO They penned in 2025 as the release date of the old world (the only logical year that fitted such a big release, 2024 is Age of Sigmar 4th ed remember!) - but because of the 40th anniversary they demanded a 2023 release and scrapped whatever the original plan was (though even that was ruined because the Legions Imperialis disaster). This now looks like a pump and dump. The rules actually look as if they were written in a few months with no innovation. Only nostalgia. And there is a clear order to not allow any of the models to cross over from AoS even if they were made during 8th edition. It's sad.
