Really cool to see Kola's development over time. From his local bouts against Fatality to taking games against top 10 players. Crazy stuff.

Seems like Kola has at last defeated ESAM's Lylat counterpick, which was what defeated him back at Glitch. Kola had a game to spare this time, so losing vs the Lylat counterpick wasn't as stressful in comparison to Glitch, but he still pulled it off despite getting gimped early on.

Really good choice with Cloud on Lylat. The thin horizontal really makes it so that Cloud's poor recovery barely comes into play, thus mitigating the Pikachu cheese. It was still a hard round four, but Kola toughed it out.

Kola's way too good, this matchup is HORRIBLE and still pulled it off, my goat

I feel like this exposes several common notions within the Smash community. A) That Pikachu is overpowered or leagues above other fighters. I feel people still cling to Smash 4 meta mentality and assume there's still going to be ultra-dominant characters in the roster. I have never felt Pika was OP and Kola ensured that. B) That Pikachu dominates Roy. I'm hard-pressed to suggest Roy or Cloud have a -2 matchup in this game. That being said, I was always told Roy hard-loses to Pikachu and Kola beat him back-to-back. I feel this set gives a much-needed fresh perspective on the current meta.
