Cyprus is represented at Eurovision by a 17-year old Australian with a song sung in English. Cyprus has no local singer capable of representing it in Eurovision.

She is Cypriot (through her father). Australia got eliminated in the same semi final, while they could have chosen Silia but they didn't. Hence Australia is not capable of selecting the right singer and song.

Lol does it bother you that much? Have some vinegar, it helps. And no, Cyprus is represented by an Australian-Cypriot. But there are many local singers to represent Cyprus also. Sometimes the singers are from Greece too!
