This week we set off on what was going to be an epic road trip from Sydney to Melbourne. But torrential downpours and a once in a century storm across New South Wales and Victoria meant that things did not quite go according to plan.
We battled with weather, challenging driving conditions and an ever changing itinerary. It wasn’t the trip we planned, but it was one for the books!
Don’t miss our epic fails, beautiful moment and the reveal of the official name for our NEW Troopy Van!

Big thanks to Visit Victoria, Sapphire Coast, Shoalhaven City Council, Destination Gippsland, and Destination Phillip Island for hosting us along the Sydney to Melbourne Touring Route and helping us see the most of this region despite the weather!

First guys welcome to Australia. Yes we had a lot of rain but we so so needed it. One of the best improvements that you can do to the Troopie is get all the windows tinted. They will be a godsend with our long highways in Australia

Sorry you experienced bad weather . This year 2023 our weather is much better . There are lots of beautiful spots a long the way but it is difficult to grasp the beauty of the place when there is strong rain . After about 3 years those trees will have recovered and then you don’t notice it . I hope you enjoyed yourself anyway .

Beautiful drone shots helped with the feeling of being on a journey with you. Challenging to do with the weather, but much appreciated. Tilly is a great name for the Troopy.

Hey guys, not sure if you guys did but lowering tyre pressures can help immensely on those slick backroads, give you a better chance to make it next time!

So good to see you Guys on the road. Love Lakes Entrance, but shame the weather wasn't better for you, as it's amazing when the sun is out and blue skies abound. Did you get a chance to see the fairy penguins while at Phillip Island? I'll look out for Tilly & Willy while you're here in Melbourne... you may get a honk and a big wave if I do. Looking forward to what you do with Tilly 😊

Yeah it is a shame but we tried to make the most of it which was good and got small periods of no rain. Yeah by the time we got to phillip island the weather was great and we got to go see the penguins which was cool!

How nice of Matilda to show you comprehensively how leakproof she is right at the beginning. 🤭 Looking forward to see how she changes over the next week.
