Sydney, this my friend's story. American living in Sydney through the pandemic. Applied four times to come back to the US to see her oncologist - she was unvaccinated because she had had a very bad reaction to a vaccine during chemo - like nearly died - and the government would not let her leave because she wasn't vaccinated! Exasperating! Eventually, she could but only on her fourth appeal and because she had a death in the family.

@@ziggystardusk6629 dang! I have a feeling maybe she was in the state of Victoria. I had the opposite experience. As a US citizen trying to leave Australia I had no issues (then again, it could have been the timeline your friend travelled vs me, since the rules seemed to constantly change). I wasn't even traveling to the US. It was my Aussie partner who wasn't allow to leave Australia. We had to apply and wait to hear back from the government for him to leave under special circumstances (his mom passed away). Having to apply to leave your own country and explaining/proving why he needed to travel, was salt in an open wound. We had to supply the death certificate as evidence etc. Not something you want to do the first few days after a parent dies and you are miles away from your family support system.

Okay, it's true I don't like Sydney at all. But this whole "I was traumatized by sexual assault" thing that our modern culture has brainwashed into us I just don't get. I was molested by my father and brother as a child and beaten. I had my hand held down on stoves and cigarettes put out on me. Sydney had what? Some guy on an airplane put his hand on her knee? I don't get it. I'm not traumatized. I can laugh and even make self depricating jokes about my "trauma." In fact, I even find it funny. I don't care. I literally don't care. Too much as a society we focus on trauma and think our "trauma" and feelings matter. We think we have to be victims and that it's empowering to be a victim. You know what I say? Get over it. It happened. Laugh at it. Humans are meant to tough it out and move on. As a species humans endured the vikings raiding their villages and doing all kinds of terrible things. They endured the Moors. They endured so much. And you know what the village girl handled it? The one that just got "assaulted" by a viking during a raid? She moved on, got married, and kept planting potatoes on her farm with her family. She didn't sit around talking about it and dealing with her "trauma". People endured the Mongols in China and just moved on with their lives. Stop giving so much power to abuse. It's honestly not something that debilitating. Shit happens.

Maybe the majority of people freeze, but as a sa survivor, I did not. My instinct kicked in within seconds (what felt like minutes bc of the adrenaline I’m assuming) and I fought back and got away in the end. The problem is that too many people conflate ‘Rationalist’ philosophy with ‘rationalisation’ and you can rationalise any action you take and that is not a positive. Without an objective moral framework to fall back on as justification you are left with an inconsistent and illogical image of the world. This deficit in logic is why Sydney, Blaire and the rest of the centre left are intellectual lightweights who lack the ability to properly articulate coherent positions when debating and why they feel “politically homeless” They’re less wrong than the people they whine about but they aren’t honestly seeking the truth or to do what is right. They only seek justification for their own immoral actions.

Rant... In the Year 2007, there was only 1 gender clinic in the United States. Today there are over 300 pediatric gender clinics. Planned Parenthood gives out testosterone on the first visit. Double mastectomy, also known as top surgery, is readily available, and in some states you can get it without parental consent and in no state do they require a note from a therapist. Prior to 15 minutes ago, gender dysphoria was a condition that affected 1 in 10,000 males. It generally didn't affect women at all. Everybody my age remembers transvestites growing up, but women didn't dress as men because gender dysphoria is a MALE condition. "Gender dysphoria" is up 4000%, and primarily these are teenage girls claiming to have the disorder. This is the same group of girls that used to be the goth girls, the girls that would cut themselves, the ones with bulimia and anorexia, in other words, girls that are unhappy with their body during and after puberty, that always fall for the latest craze. They generally grow out of it. The only problem is, you can't grow out of the sterilization that occurs when you do puberty blockers followed by testosterone, and you will have permanent damage from a double mastectomy that also cannot be reversed naturally. But if you say anything about any of this, you'll be accused of being a bigot. Even the therapists that treat this "condition" use "gender-affirming therapy". There's nobody trying to talk these girls out of it. There's too much money in the drugs and the surgeries. Girls are even being taken from their parents who want to put a stop to this butchering of their children... because of "diversity and inclusion". These are words I cannot stand. Yes. It seems like an insidious plan to destroy the youth and attack the young girls, especially. The youth don't have a counter culture like every other generation did, so they turn to gender fluidity etc. What happened to tattoos or dying your hair or going to raves? Nope, let's mutilate ourselves and change our gender every day. (Of course I am not referrring to people like Blaire that actually have gender dysphoria). There is a great book irreversible damage & of course the recent Matt Walsh Daily Wire Documentary What is a Woman. Jordan Peterson speaks about this topic as well.

I used to be straight edge about gossip, where I wouldn't touch the stuff, I felt very strongly about giving people their privacy, but I think I've passed up a lot of opportunities to learn what is or isn't considered normal, and it turns out I was in dire need of such understanding because turns out that my upbringing was very limited in way I couldn't have imagined with my child brain (lots of social isolation)

The only time I think gossiping is a bad thing is when you’re purposely spreading around lies about someone and trying to instigate fights to happen. I think the problem with assault is that too many people (also men) have never learnt how to set boundaries or rather have actively been discouraged in the formative years to set their limits. This is the result of the obedience training that most kids go through in behaviour focused parenting and school. Kids have naturally very strong boundaries but when we constantly tell them that they can’t say no, “give your auntie a kiss” (even if they don’t want to) and invalidate their emotions they are gonna turn into adults who question themselves when they are being assaulted and freeze.

@@sometimesawful That’s probably why that little boy knew you wouldn’t do anything, because he knew the law forced you to take it. In America, especially in the south, a woman and even little girls are armed and ready to take you out of this world just like a woman put you in it. There’s a lot of violence in the south but that violence breeds a different form of respect for women. In the north, there’s a lot of uppity middle class morality that ask men not to be shitbags if they want to make it in these upper middle class circles. But as soon as the pretense goes away or if you’re a woman of low enough class, it’s gloves off behind closed doors. But in the south it’s “You can try it but she’ll probably whip you with a switch and wear your scrotum as a new handbag”. It’s very vulgar and violent but it makes a lot of men in the south think twice before acting disrespectful to any random lady.

And I think the major problems that really bought alot of this on was the diffrence in fan base. It's sad especially if you go back, and watch the Slightly Offensive episodes where Sid was a constant guest. They where clearly good friends. But I guess the work ethics were just to different. Maybe if it wasn't a daily show things might have turned out different. My full conclusion to this tho is that Sidney is mostly to blame for the split. She couldn't keep her emotions together. She's been a cry baby for along time. I'm not saying that to be disrespectful either. She just gets caught up in her feelings and what other people think.

And the show wasn’t Elijah’s. It belongs to BlazeTv. Whereas Slightly Offensive belongs to Elijah and happens to be on BlazeTv. So I think with Syd gone, the executives just shelved the show. But they easily could have continued with guest cohosts till they found a replacement. They we’re getting good views and engagement when Syd left and he had guest cohosts. They could’ve kept it going. I think the trolls in the superchats added to the show getting canceled too. Elijah made it funny, cool and acceptable to troll in the superchats and it encouraged the behavior. I dunno. This is where the left has it really wrong. People like myself have no problem with trans rights. I however, will not accept someone compelling me to speak a certain way. That being said, I do refer to Blaire as she, because there’s an apparent effort to live up to the identification. There’s too many people with beards and high heels to give this subject an absolute. Even with an absolute, there’s still the first amendment. I don’t condone so-called “hate speech”. But I would not ever try to silence it. There’s an inherent value in hearing what you may not want to hear.

Seriously. If someone is clearly making an effort to look like the gender they want referred to as I have NO problem calling them that. Blaire is a she to me, hands down. But for instance a man with a long beard, shoulder length greasy hair, 6 in long chest hair sticking out, red lipstick and a tiny dress came into my workplace a few years back and made a very loud angry rant to the college professor he was sitting with about “horrible transphobes refusing to call him a she” 😬🙄 I feel like some of these people just get off on a odd power trip of socially forcing others to ignore reality.

A lot of Christians don't know what it means to actually be Christian. I'm Catholic and one of the things we believe as Christians is that "faith without works is dead" (which is literally in the Bible), but we get criticized for this belief from other Christians because they think "no! all you need is belief in Jesus!". But the idea is actually that if you do have an actual belief and a relationship with Jesus, then you WILL live a charitable and kind life because of that belief. There are a lot of "Christian" assholes because they think just going to church and saying they believe is enough.

My university has a good amount of lndian students. And all of them (who are from lndia, there are canadian-born lndians who are fine) are so CREEPY. I had one man stalk me for over a year, another one tried to lead me into a dark alleyway alone as a "shortcut" (which was in the exact OPPOSITE direction of the place I was going). I am in STEM and have been told by these lndian students that I don't belong specifically BECAUSE I'm a woman and at my age I should be married and birthing children for my father (while these same men copied my notes, mind you). I had one man tell me that school ruins women and gives them opinions, and in my current state he wouldn't want me to even be a se/x sIave for him because I'm THAT "ruined"... ugh, barf. These are just a few of MY experiences. I have reported them and been told that the uni can't do anything because there's cultural differences and we have to be "understanding" of them. Screw that noise. There's a culture among women on our campus to NEVER be alone at night with a brown man, because it's THAT prevalent. EVERY woman I've known on my campus has at least one story involving an immigrated lndian man harassing them in some way. We all avoid them like the plague. And now our uni is trying to have seminars and hand out flyers about "anti-rac/ism" to all the female students. Needless to say, we're pissed, and we're not buying it. If they won't protect us, they have no right to complain about how we protect ourselves.

Caused a lot of grief with my family who thinks I’m doing a disservice to my boys and not surrounding them with good values anymore. My own father has been trying to get me to come back to the church with guilt of leaving and saying my kids will grow up to be heathens without it, not counting in the fact that my husband and I do our best as a team. So it feels like I’m being pulled in two different directions. I’m not not religious. I’d consider myself more Christian now who just tries to understand the Bible so I can help guide my boys to what they choose to believe. I believe in standing by my beliefs even if it means winding up alone, which my husband and I largely have now with all the politically charged environments now. I will respect someone else’s decisions and beliefs until you try to make me feel shitty about me trying to do right by my husband and sons. I understand Syd. I have to agree with Sydney on the atheism thing, and being a conservative, because you have to juggle your viewpoint and beliefs, and know that you're kind of a black sheep of the group, but as she rightly pointed out it's one of the smallest things of ones persona, but in my case it is a little more prominent. I've had very conservative co-workers, and friends, who look at me like I'm a Hydra when I tell them that I am an atheist conservative. I find it really humorous when I get those looks but then the conversations that arise from their curiosity is what I strive for. Intellectual conversations are always welcome, no matter the topic and regardless of someone else's viewpoint religiously politically or ideologically. Philosophical debates are what drive my decision to be openly honest about being an atheist despite being a constitutional conservative. I gives her a unique perspective on the right and it shows morals and freedom are not restricted to religion. I'm sorry to hear she had to deal with nonsense about that on the You are Here show. I only watched a couple episodes of that. I mostly follow her through her own solo youtube channel, which is great.

Individual morality comes from culture. Cultural morality comes from religion. An irreligious individual in a culture influenced by religion may be moral. But only because the culture is religious. An irreligious culture's morality will degrade the further it drifts from reality

Blair, ,I know you don’t read all the comments but I just wanna say I’m so sad to see people like you and other truly trans people that I know being negatively affected by a movement that claims to support you. I see you girl. You are very brave

That's how I feel. I love Blaire and I think that true trans people are being erased and will lose many rights because of this insane ideology.... like what's happening to women.

"not a sustainable environment for me to be in", in THAT context, sounds EXACTLY like "could'nt handle the pressure". not saying she should have been able to handle said pressure, i dunno exactly what she was going thru behind the scenes, but at least equate reality to come to your conclusion... maybe that was the problem?
