I enjoyed the eighties working goods trains based at Lithgow. The shunting trips to Mudgee and beyond were relaxed and enjoyable. Great country environment. The Kandos cement works was a semi regular run. The local rail motor services at the time from Mudgee to Cowra and Orange on an alternating run was very sociable without the rat race as they say. Things were very different. Ben Bullen is truly a momento frozen in time. Portland rail station has been erased. You seem to enjoy your creative efforts as much as others like watching them. Well done.

Very nice town kandos my father grew up there and still have family that live over there.i also had family that used to work at the cement works back in the day when it was operating.maybe u might be able to explore the abandoned cement works if some of it is still there Phil.

Hi Phil, excellent video. Thanks for sharing. Love all the scenery and the country music, which really suits the area. I have never been on the Zig Zag Railway, though I have been through the ten train tunnels in that area. Many years ago, my wife and I took a return train trip to Mudgee, riding a motor train between Lithgow and Mudgee at the time. i remember passing Kandos on the way. Anyway, take care. Until 2 months ago, we lived at Bligh Park. I could hear the train horns at the crossing in South Windsor but that was about it. Now we live in Wentworth Falls and while we are about a 10 minute walk from the station on the lake side, we hear every V Set, Freight train etc rumble through. I love Wenty Falls and the mountains but your video made me miss Windsor and the Hawkesbury. It was a great place to live.

Thanks for the very familiar road trip Phil! Mudgee is my home town. I believe the carriage that you may have been in search of is actually located on private property just off Rocky Water Hole Road (Mt Frome/Mudgee). In the words of agent 86, “missed it by that much!”

Nice work Phil, reckon that was a XB 2 door coupe blue one in front of u in Richmond, wonder if that was a 351, love the old red carriages, bought a new 1930 cabinet for my S sets and rattlers, other day , hanging get bac to Sydney and bergs, keep up the fantastic work u do 👍👍👍
