Good 1v1 potential, good gank set up, amazing snowballing, can be one of the best ulti's in the game depending on the enemy, decent waveclear, super good 2v2. In this current meta mids need low CD, high damage, good mobility, good waveclear. That's why Sylas, Akali, Irelia, Qiyana are some of the best mids to climb with if you are mechanically proficient.

You backed out when jax came in (I guess waiting for Annie CDs?), and then zhonya'd at 75% hp (I usually don't press it until I'm low) so you could dodge more damage and have CDs up again.
