Honestly this idea is so much better than the tired "former ally gone rogue" trope that most people including myself thought they were. Totally see how Sylux carries Prime 4 with this angle

I will say, the morph ball also probably turns Samus into energy, considering that there is a gap between the two halves, where you can see into the morph ball, and all you can see is a sphere of energy.

I like this waaaay more than it being Ian or Samus's non-canon brother. I just think there's been too much of a hyperfixation on Samus's backstory instead of taking the story in new directions. Plus, Sylux being an AI fits better into the series IMO. Between Mother Brain, the Aurora Units, and Adam, the series is no stranger to AI. And it could be interesting to see a failed precursor to the AUs and Adam. I wonder whose mind they might have backed up to use as a base for Sylux... Plus there was that scrapped Metroid Prime 1.5 pitch that revolved around a rogue AI that perhaps Prime 4 could take some notes from.

I never noticed that the helmets and parts of the federation force AI armor resemble / are identical to Sylux's armor. That is a really good catch; and as always, great video and theory my man.

Lockjaw is like Samus morphball in the prime games, what is inside is Samus turning into an energy sphere like we can see through. Its just that Sylux is much easier to see directly. If he is an AI from the federation then ita another failed experiment from there that has backfired lol

A cool idea for a video series would be going over various vehicles in the Galactic Federation. Even the lack of ground vehicles could make for an interesting discussion as its own video, going over the way their military seems to function in the games as opposed to those of other sci fi series.

@@MetroidTrainer I wouldn't mind trying to help with research if you need any. We can get measurements of certain ships such as the GFS Aegis through in-game cutscenes and multiplayer. I am sure something similar can be done with other ships.

I like the idea of sylux just being just some guy whos planet gets fucked up by the federation. And the story of prime 4 could be on his planet with there being a past and future mechanic. And Sylux goes back and forth with Samus showing her what the federation did to his planet slowly turning her againts it.

I think it's adams brother ian i think he survived but was very badly damaged and created that body sylux has and transferred his mind into it to get revenge on galactic federation for letting him die

With Adam being turned into an AI after his death in Other M, there's definitely a possibility that Ian could have met thr same fate. I wanted to bring that up in the video but I didn't want to complicate focus of the subject

i think that's most likely. i also think he couldve been someone that was captured and experimented on, and had their planet destroyed by Samus and the Federation. Maybe he has sympathy for the Metroids, and is not trying to use them as a weapon...but trying to save them from experimentation. I think it's significant that they are from "Cylosis".

I love how thoroughly researched this theory is. Perhaps if it IS an AI, maybe its based off of Ein Malkovich? Just like how the AI in Fusion is based off of Adam

I really can't wait to hopefully see who or what Sylux is in MP4, but I'm also worried that the truth won't be as cool as any of the theories. Like he's nothing more than a random trooper that defected because of some kind of lame reason.

This is a way better theory than Sylux being Ian Malkovich. Would be pretty lame, IMO. I hope Sylux is completly new character, someone that made an impact on Samus past, or someone from a alien species that's not part of the Galactic Federation. Could explain why he hates the federation and Samus.

well in my metriod theory silux was a space pairate simpivzer due to being mcuh more aware aobut the ferdration ileagl R&D and besce a wihslee blower. but also they became wanted and had to steal alot ofthe tech that the fedration keep hdings might also now be a ai somehow due to some thing behind that seches of some atpen of being offed by some nasty bad eggs . also the canon reason is the morth ball bascly turns you into pure energy thats bascly like a form of pure spirtal energy so it being bird magic is not a joke but its acatly canon tachly bescue the lore says so.

Hey Metroid trainer, I have a question. I'm planning on playing the Metroid games again, but I don't know if I should follow them in timeline order like zero mission the primes and then the rest of the main games or if I should do the main game's first and then the prime. What's your idea for that?

I'd say do the main games first. The main games and prime games can be played separately without much confusion over timeline placements.

The reactor fix should have been an routine thing. If Ian is Sylux and very much likely he is. I hope he planned to fake his death so is not that terrible thrope where a character with a 0.0000000000000000000001 chance of surviving, somehow survives🤡 just because.
