Sylvain Luc is a superb player, I bougth a Godin 5th Ave, and it sounded s*** in my hands, but Sylvain plays one and it sounds like heaven!

I think everyones comments regarding the quality of the guitar are really valid. It's true to say that it doesn't always sound like it's worth a lot of money, BUT I think there is a lot of clarity and detail in single notes and crispness in chord playing. I have heard other players playing this guitar and to me very few have made it sound good. Sylvain makes it sound incredible. It's obvious that it's very suited to his technique.

Considering how incredible these instruments are why aren't more musicians playing them. Sylvain severely deserves something of this quality and yet he predominantly plays laminated tops and factory made instruments, which he does make sound amazing. The answer is, these are so expensive they end up as toys in the hands of the rich. I mean no disrespect to anyone who owns one by saying that but the only time they get played by working musicians is when they are lent. Even the likes of Tommy Emmanuel and Martin Taylor got 'loaned' one (or was it two).

i prefer my Martin but i admire Sylvain Luc-an extroardinary guitarist, with biréli Lagrène, those 2 are monsters-so listen to tghe master before criticizing the sound on youtube of a guitar.....And good luck to you all to play half good as this guy within 50 years!

In my opinion, very few guitars deserve to be played by Sylvain. He's a jazz player but also a great classical guitarist and i believe the guitars that fits him best are classical or flamenca guitars. As Paco de Lucia, his expressivity, precision,velocity and technique are huge and powerfull and he needs some kind of a 'stradivarius' guitar to get the pure sound that lives in his fingers. @LMA0NAISE just my 2 cent of course: it is simply impossible to judge the sound of a guitar recorder with a cheap camcorder. I think it is pointless. You might as well ask Stevie Wonder if he thinks Picasso's "La Garnica" is beautiful or not.... But the fact that Sylvain plays it in every way possible, and even later that evening used it for his concert, now that is an entire different criteria than the sound reproduced here. Also: I hope you have a decent headphones as well? ;-D

@fransgreg i think he was saying that action adjustment is for lazy ppl. bc all you have to do is turn an allen wrench and in seconds your neck your action has been adjusted.

No one will ever play that guitar like he just did..sign him up and give him that guitar. If your guitars are so expensive that you can't give that guitar to one of the best players on the planet he probably can do without it I'm guessing. if its not yours to give then give him another one we all know it's overpriced anyway.

Parker’s Arch top Guitars are like PRS of Acoustic A-tops. They may not be the richest tonally-but are a players dream as far as ease of play-Great for Django riff. But I would rather have a traditional super fine sounding Golden era old Epiphone, Gibson or Benedetto. For a lot less $$

I think Sylvain is the only person to make this guitar sound good. I know I'm going to get flamed for this, but I've heard better sounding guitars that are about $1,000, as opposed to $30,000.

I'd say that it's quite telling that Sylvain, despite having tried Parker's guitar, chooses to play a Godin 5th Avenue. A guitar that can be bought at about a tenth the price. It just shows that no matter how great the craftmanship of a boutique guitar, it's not needed in order to make great music. And really the only reason people like Parker, Benedetto, and their ilk are charging so much is because people are willing to throw their money at them.

The genius of Sylvain Luc is NOT an equilibrium pairing with this hideously sounding guitar.

Sylvain is a great player but I don't think the guitar sounds remarkable. I know some people will get hot under the collar for me saying this, but I've built archtops that sound better than this Parker and anyone who doubts me should arrange to play mine any time they're in central Florida. I'll prove it. Parker tries to reinvent the wheel...or the guitar. I personally don't find that his ideas are anything better...just different. Great for some people, but I never wanted a Parker.
