Invasion of Quel'thalas depicts Sylvanas' story throughout Scourge's invasion upon her homeland. It takes us from her standpoint before WotLK and returns us to the past where we can relive the events in her own eyes and reveal her motives behind the deadly plague.

Really cool to see a project of this scale come out! I always love seeing Warcraft lore come to life in machinima videos and so I was an eager-beaver as soon as the video began. The voice work could've been better, but I know that good VA is hard to come by, however it did not take away from the quality of the video itself. For one of your first machinima's (aside from the other) this is very impressive. I can't wait to see what you'll do in the future.

The living Sylvanas model was absolutely beautiful. The voice acting was... well, practice makes perfect. I watched it on mute, and it was great. I can't stress it enough though: I love the model for living Sylvanas.

Aaand there were VERY long fights that is why Sylvanas was defeated by Arthas because of fatigue. Aaaand there was this guy named Thalorien Dawnseeker, who held bore the Quel'delar but was still killed by another death knight named Morlen Coldgrip.

I love Sylvanas, shes one of my favorite characters, but some of how some of the views on some of the characters kind of didn't look very good, like a side angle. Some of the voice acting, it could've had more emotion in it like they could've acted more as if they where that character instead of doing half it. but overall very good.

I really loved seeing this story from the first person as opposed to through campaigns and narratives. I was surprised that voice acting was needed since so much of it already existed in the WCIII game files.

As soon as I got to the end part, I scrolled down and I'm amazed that noone's commented on this yet. [b]This animation of does not portray the actual lore to the end.[/b] The original Sunwell was in the middle of Silvermoon and NOT on the Isle of Quel'Danas. The one that got added as a raid instance into World of Warcraft was a second one, built by Kael'Thas' elves. The original Sunwell was, most likely, located where the Dead Scar ends now (smack dab in the middle of the former city-state).

The dead scar ends at Quel\danas actually. In the book, Arthas went to Quel'danas to get to the Sunwell and I based it on the book not on the WC3 game.

Then again, I did kind of lose touch with the lore once I stopped playing, back in '08, so I'm guessing it's from something released since then. octav3k Wrong, the book describes how Arthas crossed the waters to reach the isle of Quel'Danas to get to the Sunwell. The game might have placed it in the midle of Silvermoon, but lorewise, it's on that island!

I really enjoy the animation, but have a few tips. 1. Try to add some music to it, because as it is now, it's pretty silent. 2. To you how do the voice for Sylvanas: Don't be scared to scream when you need to. Can need a little practice, but try to. 3. When there is a battle fought, like that in Silvermoon, try add a few more people and make it a little more grand. Otherwise, great work!

Thanks for the ciritque, I was -very- insecure with the music, I hoped it wouldn't show, but I'll make sure to be more confident the next time around :) I didn't voice Sylvanas, but I'll pass on the message and well, I wanted to make it far more grandiose, but I really wanted to finish the machinima before my uni starts hence the time limit ^^ Although all very useful tips, thanks!

Loved this vid on sylvanas story. I talk about this bit of lore with several of my guildies whom never understood her completely. She is my favorite chara of all time. Her story is not only compelling, but sad as well, and you feel her wrath and vengeance that she seeks, you even find yourself rooting for her. Anywho, if you need a voice actor, hit me up. May not have anything on youtube to give for show. But I have always been theatrical, and narrative.

I do feel like the scale of her character would be better addressed without just sticking to the character development of the games, and also used the versatility of the her being "fleshed out" as it were, in the books that deal with her indirectly or as a tangent. She is more complex than just evil and in single lament.

I do agree that her character is far more grandious, yet the time limit (Which was crossed :x) unabled me from expanding her further than Blizzard, since it did become a series now, you will be able to see more of her in the future and with less limits on my part and I hope you'll enjoy that interpretation.

Your work has its ups and downs, like the voice acting (had to bring it up)on most characters, Arthas was pretty decent, but nontheless not emotional enough. For a first time it is really well made, you can however see the inexperience sometimes. Keep up the good work

For your first machinima you did an amazing job, do not be discouraged by the narrow minded idiots on here being overly critical of you. Sadly I do have to agree that the voice acting of sylvanas was beyond abysmal, there was no emotion or urgency to the character at all and it genuinely sounded like the actor was talking at a level where they were simply reading from a script late at night whilst trying not to wake up their household. Finding a good voice actor for free isn't as hard as you might think, for future reference try sites like starnow.co.uk lot's of aspiring voice actors looking to be recognised and have some work to show. You also might consider opening it up to the community and getting people to send you samples (many free pieces of decent voice recording software out there), I'm sure many members of the community would have a hidden talent and would love to take part. Anyway good first attempt you clearly have talent. Keep up the good work and good luck with future projects.

The Arthas voice acting was good, the worst was the Sylvanas voice acting, she seemed to just be reading a script and not putting any emotion into her character. It wasn't even the accent that made it bad, just the lack of emotion.

This is a cool story, and very well put together, however this is not what happened. Any historian that has studied the Quel'dorei story, as well as Sylvanas Windrunner's, is that Arthas got the power from the Sunwell in what is now known as the Ghostlands, with the traitor Dar'khan who killed the other mages in order to let the scourge march across the forest to get to temple of Quel'thalas, and as a last resort the sunwell in Eversong Woods scorched all of the remaining scourge and seperated itself from the continent, forming the Isle of Quel'thalas. Arthas was able to get to the Archeron before his numbers were decimated, taking the body of Sylvanas, and he gave the body a banshee spirit. She retained all of her memories, and was to Arthas' will. Sylvanas died while trying to protect her city and the sunwell, along with her four sisters. Sylvanas never saw her other sisters, but she knows that they are dead. Eventually, Sylvanas gathered enough of the scourge to escape the hold of Arthas, and went to hide is what was the city of Lorderon, but now is known as the Undercity. That is how Sylvanas is now the Banshee Queen of the Undercity. All four of the sisters also got pendants in order to always remind them of where they stood, and when you bring the pendant of one of the Windrunner sisters, found in Ghostlands, to Lady Sylvanas, she sings the Lament of the High Bourne as she mourns her sister and the battle that she lost. Also, the scourge didn't have a plague that the spread like the Undead do, they just had a mass army that continued to grow in power as either side loses forces, and no one also knew of the blood elves or the sunwells except the Night Elves, so there would have been no way that Sylvanas would had had an explosive. I don't know if someone has said this already, but I am restating what is true and what isn't true. This did have a lot of what I said, just not in the right spots. At this point, time is no longer an issue.

I was behind the city, and the scourge wanted to cut right through to get the Sunwell. WoW is probably different than warcraft

Len Kagamine yeah, since if you follow the lore, silvermoon was built around the sunwell, but in World of Warcraft, the sunwell would have been on the Isle of Quel'danis. The isle used to be apart of Eversong woods. But, when the mages realised that the scourge were coming for the sunwell, they decided to detonate it, separating the Isle with the entire continent. Warcraft never spoke the Isle because it could exist according the the layout.

Wrong, Wiki here: Sylvanas was not killed, but rather captured. Barely clinging to life, Sylvanas Windrunner was brought before Arthas. She protested, saying she deserved a clean death, but Arthas, having had to fight her every step of the way, responded by telling her after what she had put him through, the last thing he would give her was the peace of death. He desecrated her spirit, corrupting her body and soul, and brought her back as a whirlwind of torment and hatred

Arthas was fine,The Undead Doctor was perfect. Sylvanas' acting wasn't very good, A few retakes and this could have been Epic, But her saying Fall BacK! Souldn't have been the whisper it was.

the voice actor is the worst for Sylvanas but the vid is ok. You should put the same voice actor of the original Sylvanas from wow and for high elf sylvanas you should put the same voice actor too but without the ghost sound from Sylvanas' voice

The sounds are bad , the arts ,the moving are very bad and no music are playing. Arthas model isn't good I don't think blizzard make this video

stilted bad voice acting and very bity a few good moments could do with a re work with new character models and a clear story board.

My ears g0t raped by the voiceacting, maybe a little more time and better voiceacting. The rest is okay, for a wow video ;)

Holy fk the voice acting is so crap. Especially Sylvanas.And Arthas dragging Frostmourne on the ground, lmao. Shame, good video tho.
