@@n34z3r Yeah! You are correct Neil "Taking in" is the wrong choice of words. It suggests Balboa lived with Mickey from a young age. Rocky has become an American cultural icon. I'd hazard a guess that even as a fictional character he's probably more popular than most real boxers. I've loved the films and the character since I was a kid, and that hasn't changed to this day. As long as they make a Rocky movie, I'll watch it. I hope Stallone has that opportunity again, for all our sakes (and his).

Exactly. They assumed a lot of risk in doing so. Stallone would have just went back to what he was before had it flopped, a struggling actor. They stood to lose a lot of money and prestigious in the industry. Regardless of what transpired afterwards, he owes them that. They took a chance and without that, the movie may have never seen the light of day or at least, the way Stallone envisioned it.

i think a really good story line would be to see someone coming up in the media attacking rocky as usual, and finding that clubber lang does not seem to care much for the attacker either. So in a surprise lang seeks out rocky and the two settle their differences. putting both their strengths together lang helps train rocky to defeat who they both despise. That would really bring back some great 80s nostalgia

Winkler may have done some things wrong along the way, or at least in Sly's mind he did. Maybe he did. I don't know. Even if that is the case, he can and should be grateful for Winkler because without him willing to take the chance, it might never have been made. At least, it wouldn't have been made as Stallone envisioned it or we may have seen another actor in the role. Winkler took out a mortgage on his house and assumed a lot of risk. If the movie flopped, Stallone would have just went back to being a struggling actor. No worse off than he was before. Winkler stood to lose a lot of money and possibly esteem in the business. Regardless of how their relationship turned out in subsequent years, Stallone does have a lot to be grateful for with Winkler.

If only I could down vote something more than once... Look I love Rocky, but Creed is a separate character now. They aren't rivals. No need to trash one to lift the other as Creed movies never trashed Rocky.

How is Henry Winkler involved? Other than being friends with Sly, I’m not aware of any owning interest he has? 🤔

He literally got Sly his script back after he originally sold the script. He used his power as the ‘Fonz’ to help Sly.

Whatever the ownership situation, Rocky and all that followed is Stallone's legacy. It's a shame things have gotten so sour.

Rocky, not Stallone, was around 30 in the first movie. That means today…he’s around 75. THERE’S NO WAY HE CAN COME BACK FOR ONE MORE GO!

What if Rocky 7 is titled the last dance I know we maybe we don’t need rocky but it’s Sly he is moving like a 20 year old and he is one of the most creative dudes when it comes to movies script.

We need a petition setting up to get Stallone the rights back to his rightful property! I'll never watch a Creed movie, but I'll watch Stallone in any Rocky movie❤ Stallone = Rocky!!!!!

Its messed up, that a studio or producer can take your IP and run with it creatively with you. That original contract, standard as it was, had to be terrible.

Um, do the makers of this clip believe that Henry Winkler (actor, lifelong friend of Stallone’s) is the the SAME person as Irwin Winkler (producer, now sworn enemy of Sly?)???

Why are they showing clips from Henry Winkler aka The Fonze from Happy Days? Irwin Winkler and Henry Winkler are not related.

Imagine creating a character that is a household name and then being told that it's NOT YOURS anymore! Money is their ONLY goal in life. 2 Tim 6:10 for the LOVE of money is the root of all evil. So, keeping THAT in mind, what does that say about Winkler and Alvidsen? Sly, we love ya man and your fans got your back!

I heard Stallone don't care how much he get paid first rocky. He thought first rocky movie gonna suck big time. So, he accept low paid. After more and more people watch rocky 1. Later, he got famous in Rocky 1. After that 2, 3, 4, 5 is studio giving him millions of dollars salaries. not bad. I saw rocky 1,2,3,4,5 in 1980s -1990s. It's was great. Rags to riches stories.
