Thankyou for this, she makes me feel so un-alone in this life. Just like NIN and alot of other amazing people who dared to speak the truth, it's a damn shame she paid the ultimate price and her husband left her mentally and physically ill only to benefit from her poetry after her suicide that he was absolutely responsible for

Whereas, in reality, nobody would even be aware of her today had she not been married to an already famous poet, and had she not committed suicide. It's true she has an interesting voice, but her poetry isn't greater than several of her lesser known contemporaries, let alone the best of them.

She is better than Maya Angelou she is never on poetry world-famous level it has a certain sound and imagery while Sylvia shares that with them

Before we had KZfaq stars, women used to check themselves into mental asylums and write fiction and poetry to become famous.

I just havent heard another english speaking poet put to together lines so perfect sounding. Each after the other so precisely musical. Ive always felt good poetry was the best words in the best arrangement, but i think Plath could have used other words and still these would be masterpieces.
