Jay Z had a ton of help to accomplish what he has in music. It was Dame who understood the only freedom is putting up your own money taking risks and understanding every single contract. It was Lior Cohen who gave Jay Z positions no a Black artist under that label would have ever attained so that Liors bosses could neutralize Dame to continue maintaining the stronghold on America's largest export Black Music. 50 was right. Jay gets a lot of credit for what Dame did. These affiliations have a responsibility to present his contributions as something the arent to maintain brand prowess.
@SmooDeeAhh
@SmooDeeAhh 11 ай бұрын
@@rhyno8644 50 hates Jay-Z thats the only conclusion I can come to at this point. I say that because 50 knows Dame shot himself in the foot and wasnt good for business in the end. Jay had no choice but to separate from him if you pay attention Dame is the only person on the outside looking in. Biggs still with him. Dame burned bridgesand made silly mistakes Dame cant own up to and thats why he chatty all over the net He'd rather blame Hov and niggas like you eating it up

1 thing people have to realize about Jay Z, he was always thinking of his next move. A lot of people when it comes to music get caught up into their emotions and feelings. Homeboy was thinking about business. That Cat is a hustler, and that's what he does. He learned the game, and what it's all about. People love comparing him to Big, Pac, and even Nas. But it ain't no comparison at this point. And he was going to be him, regardless of whose no longer here. His mindset is different.

@Perrynn , I think all of those dudes would still be the coldest at what they did. But Jay realized very quickly where the money was at, and how to get to it. I don't think too many guys coming from where he came from would sit down with the folks he sat with. Look at the people he pushed. Bruh was no longer for the streets. Think about it,he'd been there, and done that.

I can name other rapers who have done better deals or sold more records, but they didn't make themselves the bar.Puffy and Jay did. Master P has done better business, MC Hammer has done great business, LL has lasted for decades, Kanye and Drake has hit harder careers, but they didn't became the bar for a generation. Jay and Beyonce are this generation's Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. Puffy was the first with a Bentley. Jay has you drinking his Ace. Both had a clothing line. It’s a lot of reasons why Jay is the greatest but I think there is no one who has has the wordplay, the double and triple entendres, the flow versatility, and on top of that still has substance. Many rappers can rap but they don’t talk about anything. Other tend to piece words together well but it’s mindless. Jay can really paint a picture

Ima address a few things about this interview. Symba is a Bay Area native. The bay is different from LA completely we all west coast but we different In the bay when west VS east shit was poppin we was still tight with east coast despite our love for pac. Symba has a unique style and is what we call a west coast nigga with a east coast style . It’s some out here who cherishes the lyricism and culture of hip hop. Dude In the corner wearing all black with shades is old fashion New Yorker and doesn’t like west coast niggas period. If symba was from New York ( like everyone thought he was) he would love him. Symba best move is to go out east where bars are approved and appreciated.

I think the biggest thing is that he competed with pop music when pop music was in its prime, and did it on his own independent label. I dont think to many people could compete with Britney Spears and The Backstreet Boys, let alone with their own money on the line.

I kind of get what you mean but if we’re talking purely from a sales standpoint, Hov ain’t competing with them white folks. I remember when that whole teen pop wave of Britney, NSYNC, Christina and Backstreet boys came. They were selling 10 million+ a trip. Hell I even think NSYNC sold 2 million copies in a week. But yeah, Hov has been able to sustain and strengthen his brand over time.

He is a GOAT, there's LL Cool J, Nas, Ghostface Killah, Jadakiss, Bustah Rhymes, Diamond D and the Psychotic Neurotics, to name a few. No matter what, LL Cool J, Nas, and Bustah Rhymes make the list of the GOATS- they are undisputed for what they have done w/ sounds, collaborations, and LL Cool J even pioneered the rap ballad with "I need love." That takes a special courage to go out on a limb and RISK, that paid off and now some do that due to what LL Cool J did, it has been built upon, and VERSATILITY is what was shown with LL Cool J, in him doing that. There's firsts with LL COOL J, that means that Jay Z gets to one of the GOATS- not THE GOAT. There's NO SINGULAR, when all those people alive or dead still have what they got under their belt for accomplishments or contributions to hip hop. Sorry not sorry.
