I love the subtle smile the conductor has at 0:45. It makes me think that he was one of millions of kids who played Super Mario World back when he was a little kid.

It can be that ,but i'm a musician at my college and I see the same smile on the face of my conductor. It's the smile of the passion ! :) The best smile that I ever see.

Maybe, but I bet it's because not only is he a conductor, but he's conducting music that he remembers from his childhood on top of that.

10:15 - from those first notes alone I was so emotional to hear the ending to Super Mario 64 orchestrated. That was my favorite ending song as a kid. I'd always hum it or whistle it when I was happy. Holy shit I teared up. Even when they segued briefly into the Super Mario World ending theme, another one of my favorites back then.
