Hi Cody, there is a common thread which runs through the lyrics of the majority of Epica's music - 'freedom, liberty and living your best life' just another reason why I love this band so much :)

What I love about this band is that it is NOT a band with a "front woman" but a band where every musician is relevant, center stage and has their moment of solo glory. They are all completely invested in this and feel the music. And to be honest, if I were that good, I would rock on stage like that too and enjoy every single note of such a master piece of which I would have been a part in!

Song from The Quantum Enigma (Epica's sixth studio album). Video from ΩMEGA ALIVE ( Epica's virtual concert ). I just LOVE this Blu-Ray ❤🔥. Epica = Epic . Well deserved Band name , if I say so myself !!!!!

Now you got an idea why Epica is the 2nd unbelievable Symphonic Metal Band next to Nightwish. I would recommand "Design your Universe" live (Retrospect), because it is epic 😂 and you will LOVE the lyrics. Masterpice.

It is no competition 😂. Both are outstanding. The rest is a personal taste IMO. You like perfect harmonies > NW (Floor & Marko). You like perfect contrast (building harmonies) > Epica (Simone & Mark). NW has more folk (celtic) elements, Epica oriental influences etc. etc. Question of taste 😍

@@CodyLamReacts Both guitars and the bass have that extra low B string, they have written many songs in B, that's why a lot of their riffs sound so chunky :)

Epica is such a wonderful band. And you can see they have so much fun together. Cheers from tha Low Countries (in Lockdown) so praise to our metal queens to get us through it. Great reaction my friend !

Hi Cody a quick tip, always view the comments in 'SORT BY Newest first' mode, this way you will always see those suggestions where people have added a link to the video, these comments often don't show up when SORT BY is set to the default 'Top comments' mode

I think that if you are a singer in a Symphonic Metal band, that you need a lot of air support, because if you don't have that, the heavy guitars would let your sound to be tin. Simone, Floor, Sharon den Adel (Within Temptation) and a few others more have the cappasity.

Well, if symphonic metal blows your mind, why don't you check the band that invented the genre and therefore changed music? No, it's not Epica, nor Nightwish (yes, both bands are amazing), but THERION. The first symphonic metal song released was "To Megatherion", back in 1996 (album "Theli"). Please, check it out, don't narrow your view of the gender by only listening to Epica and Nightwish (but of course you have to listen to everything by these amazing bands). I give you a list of other symphonic metal masterpieces by other bands: THERION: "Adulruna Rediviva", "land of Canaan", XANDRIA: "Theater of Dimensions", WITHIN TEMPTATION: "The truth beneath the rose", IMPERIAL AGE: "Turn the sun off"... No, can you just stop underestimating Epica to put your Therion in a higher pedestal? I love Therion until Vovin, but they've gone downhill. You can never sau the same thing for Epica!!!

Please tell me how I underestimated Epica just by saying they didn't invented the genre (true) and that Cody should react to everything by them? It's you who should stop underestimating Therion (and all the other good bands that also exist) just because you don't like them. For instance, I don't like Ayreon at all, but you won't see me writing comments to reactors telling them not to react to them (Of course they should and get their own opinion). As I said, I absolutely love Epica, but I don't think that ALL their songs are better than any other song for any other band; also with Therion; yes, it's my favorite band, but of course I love many songs for many bands more than some Therion songs... So despite you don't like it, I will continue suggesting people to react to Epica when they just hear Nightwish, but will also suggest then to listen to other good bands with great songs. And that's not underestimating Epica, I repeat... By the way, my favorite writer is Stephen King and my favorite film director is Tarantino; am I underestimating your favorite writer or director by saying it? Please think about it. I forgot to tell you that 6 years ago I had the chance to talk with Mark and Coen from Epica for more than an hour. Amazing guys... And FYI they told me they love Therion and are thankful to them
