The best Showkontrol tutorial I've seen thus far. I've searched high and low with unsuccessful results.You gave us an excellent presentation of this software. I've been somewhat in the dark on how it actually physically works while familiarizing myself with the demo. I too have yearned for this type of link ability to various programs via OSC, Smpte , etc. Thank you

Nice tutorial. I’ve done a few shows as a ShowKontrol tech mainly for sending timecode to the lighting console and for bigger shows the video and Pyro teams. It’s definitely a great tool to have to help the production of live shows, in my case, artists (rappers/singers) with DJs. Definitely adds that extra quality for the look of the show

Best tutorial out there, but hiw do you use twi separate decks switching automatically between the two using system level cues? or using a djm-900mkii to determine the active layer

I believe most DJ's use Pioneer Controllers like DDJ-SRT-1000 with Mac, and it would be just easier to play MP4 Videos on the Serato DJ-Pro Software video plug-in (It's already synched of course) - and Connect with an HDML to the Nova connected to the LED Wall. And if they don't have MP4s for each song and want to use Resolume for great visuals they can set all videos to be sound reactive on Resolume. It seems like too much work to setup with ShowKontrol for event's DJ's. But yeah, great video for those who use Nexus at clubs!

Christian Jackson has a good video on ShowKontrol. The Blackmagic Hyperdeck player has audio video and SMPTE out. Will test that later.

Bravo for this tutorial Julian! , everything is doin just fine, except : the track metadata is not show up at deck. can u help me with it? the audio is fine.. but no track title, no BPM. FYI im using CDJ 3000 & DJM V-10. plus rekordbox & pioneer dj link bridge. please help.. maybe i skipped one step.. BigThx in advance!

Really helpful video, quick question, you mention exporting the playlist from rekordbox - what’s the best way to do this, the two options that come up under export is .txt or .m3u neither of which seem to work when trying to import into SK. Thanks in advance!

The banner fills the blank space created by the ultrawide monitor. If i just made the video the full size of the screen, it would be cut off on. both ends.

Might be an weird question since you're running off of only mac, have you found a 'best' way to connect a mac to a windows computer ? Currently have a mac running SK and then my windows running Resolume, wanted your advice on best way to bridge the two.

running a smpte line between the windows machine on resolume, and the mac running showkontrol. Thats an audio line.

@@JulianGrayMedia I've been told to use two audio interfaces (one for PC with Resolume and one for Macbook with Show Kontrol). Do I need to use a Male to male XLR to connect them (as the SMPTE line)? When I google SMPTE cable another format comes up that doesn;t plug into our computers/audio interfaces. Thanks man for the vid!

Yes, Smpte is an audio signal so you need 2 audio interfaces and the line between them is an output of the Showkontrol machine, and an input on the resolume one. These days I run both on one machine which I find reliable enough. @@hijamesjamesjames
