The first endovascular neural interface, the Stentrode™ is a minimally invasive implantable brain device that can interpret signals from the brain for patients with paralysis. Implanted via the jugular vein, the #Stentrode is placed inside the #brain in the command-control center, known as the motor cortex, but without the need for open brain surgery. The signals are captured and sent to a wireless unit implanted in the chest, which sends them to an external receiver. We are building a software suite that enables the patient to learn how to control a computer operating system and set of applications that interact with assistive technologies. This #technology has the potential to enable patients with paralysis to take back digital control of their world, without having to move a muscle.
Synchron is currently preparing for pilot clinical trials of the Stentrode™ to evaluate the safety and efficacy of this breakthrough technology.

It would be wonderful if this technology can be used to treat refractory epilepsy.

Innovative, non-invasive BCI with direct access to motor neuronal data. Imagine that. Stephen Hawking's spirit smiles warmly on this effort. Cheers, mates.

It sounds like something I read in an old book that talks about a mark of the beast in the forehead.

This tech + advancement in AI + DNA digital storage all lead to the mark of the beast. Climate change with increases in temperatures, draughts, floods, earthquakes, a possible solar flare are all described in revelation. We will probably live the end times within the next 15-30 years, at the most 50. It's all coming together. Even the Euphrates river is drying up as predicted in the prophecies. Israel is a nation once again. It's all coming together.

i dont see this going as far bc it cant be used for input into the brain. its only to the brain to electric. not also eletric to brain

There are 7 types of brain technology, including 1 Neuroengineering is the study of the brain and its nervous system from the point of view of engineering and technology and aims to develop tools and devices to help people with brain injuries or neurological diseases 2 Neuroscience is the study of the brain and its nervous system from the point of view of biological sciences and aims to understand the process of learning, memory, perception and other neurological functions 3 Brain-Computer Interface (BCI), a technology that allows people to interact with computers or electronic devices using the neural activity of the brain 4 Electroencephalography - EEG, which is a technique of recording the electrical activity of the brain using electrodes installed on the scalp and used to diagnose neurological diseases and study nervous activity 5 Magnetic resonance imaging - MRI, which is a brain imaging technique using a magnetic field and used to diagnose neurological diseases 6 Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy - fNIRS It is a technique for recording changes in blood flow to the brain using near infrared radiation and is used to study neural activity and analyze the brain 7 Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging - fMRI, which is a brain imaging technique using a magnetic field to identify areas that are active during the performance of neurological tasks and is used to study neuronal activity and medical diagnosis

This looks weak and too invasive. People need to invest their time and money into Elon Musks neuralink.

I like NeuraLink better because the chip works through Bluetooth so you don't need connecting to a wired receiver (1:08). However, I don't see what you mean by "weak", and you are wrong in saying it's "too invasive". Neuralink requires open brain surgery which is far more invasive and problematic in the long-term. The use of catheters on the other hand is very extended and safe, and the controller unit just goes under the chest's skin, so this BCI is overall a lot less invasive. Either way, one should recognise this is all amazing progress towards an incredibly exciting (and admittedly somewhat scary) future 😊

It's far less invasive than Neuralink, neuralink puts a permanent quarter sized hole in your skull
