I highly agree with your point of view regarding the cancel noise. Indeed, it's making the voice sometimes sounding as electronic sound or something strange and you can tell that the voice is changing a little bit.

Thanks for the great review. It seems like an interesting unit. I really like the form factor and recording feature. But I'm really surprised about the headphone jacks on the transmitters. Mic inputs would have been a more useful choice I think. If you had a choice though would you choose this over the Hollyland Lark M1?

I would choose the Hollyland Lark M1 - it’s easier to use and caller overall and the sound quality is better. my favourite though is the Hollyland Lark 150 because you can plug microphones in.

Hey Mark, great video as usual 👍🏼. Somewhat unrelated question: can the FX30 shoot video and/or stills in Aperture Priority? I noticed that it doesn’t have the dial on the top like the A7 series and others, so I’m wondering if it’s possible. Thank you 👊

yes, you can switch it with the mode settings or in the menus

Hey mark can you please do a field of view comparison for 4k 120 of fx30 with sigma 16mm and 56mm in different conditions

The internal recording sounds miles better than the wireless transmission, the latter clips around 800hz ... although it might be the preamp of the FX30. On A7IV, you get best sound if the input doesn't exceed -12dB, otherwise the Sony limiter kicks in, and it can't be disabled unfortunately. That limiter sounds extremely awful.

I did test it on my Panasonics too and the internal quality was always better. I also directly compared it to other wireless mics on my Sony cameras and the other mics had much cleaner, better audio.

@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Indeed, I commented before reaching the end of the video and saw that towards the end. Sorry about the precipitated comment. Panasonic seem to have the edge on mic pres over Sony, but an audio interface is still way superior for studio work. I'll dink around with this a bit more before making a video, sound is more my field. For video I'm taking lessons from you !

I understand that the internal memory of the transmitter is for backup purposes. But can the transmitter work as a standalone mic and record audio while switching off the receiver? Thanks in advance.

What is the Zve10 connection from the synco? You said USB out of the synco. I experimented with the USBC on Zve10 with my saramonic blink USB mic (which I use with my Note 10+, think it has a dac) but it didn't work w Zve10. Guessing has to be 3.5mm.

Have you tried the Synco G2? Does the last version have a better sound than the 3rd gen?

The Synco G2 actually sounds better than the G3. They had to make compromises on the G3 in terms of the microphone in order to get this new form factor and features.

You used a . instead of : in the time-stamp for Cons Also, you could add an infocard and a link in the description to the Hollyland Lark M1 review You could also put it into your end screen if you had one. This way you could get new people to watch more of your videos

Let's see...I already have the RODE Wireless GO and GO II, the Hollyland Lark 150, Hollyland Lark M1, the Comica Boom XD dual mic wireless system, Tascam field recorder, and the Tascam DR-10L. Was I crazy? Hollyland asked me to review the Lark 150 and gave me a massive discount. And Comica also asked me to review theirs. The Lark 150 and M1 are excellent. The Comica Boom XD is also a very good system. The small Tascam DR-10L records to a micro SD card and comes with a lav mic. Hmmm, should I get the Synco G3?

haha. I think you can ship this one. The audio quality is not up to the Hollyland Lark M1 or Lark 150. Now the Synco G2 actually has better quality than the G3. they made some compromises on the mic quality for the form factor compared to the G2. you could consider that one. 😀

Hey i own a ZVE10 and i am planning to get a manual lens like the TTartisan 35mm f1.4. Can i use the footage i capture with the manual lens to fix stability in Catalyst Browse? Please help.

No wireless system without a 3.5mm mic jack would be of any interest for me. The sound quality on both of the mics in your walk-about sounded bad on my laptop speakers. I will listen on my studio gear to see if it is better. I use Tascam recorders instead of wireless. Haven't seen any of these compact consumer wireless systems that are as good as using a Tascam or Zoom pocket recorder. Cheers.

Wait, the transmitters record internally and transmit wirelessly simultaneously? If true that’s major because it means they’ve paid patent licensing royalties.

I don’t know about any of the patent info, but a few mics do that these days. The rode wireless go ii, DJI, Boom X-D Pro and now this Synco.

Please help me. I can't choose another frame rate in the menu, only 50 fps I change in : Shooting - video quality - recording frame rate. There's only 50 that's lit gray. When pressed, it says "Cannot be changed if set to PAL". But I need 25 frames... Sony Alpha 7 IV

in file format, switch from XAVC HS 4K to XAVC S 4K and then you will able to choose 25p

The pre amp on the zv e10 doesn't help either. I notice a big difference between zv e10 and a7iii when using internal mic preamp

I used the fx30 as well. I checked on the gh5 and a7iv. Also, I compared this mic to the other mics on the same cameras to make sure it wasn’t any camera in particular. Unfortunately, the sound quality just isn’t quite where it should be

You dont need to boost the bass. On my Focal Alpha 80 monitors the sound without is better.

Thanks for your review. You've just saved me of wasting time and getting stressed because I was considering getting this mic but your review changed my mind. I watched other reviews but the sound comparison is not as good as it is in yours. Curiously, there is a review where the reviewer compares the sound of iPhone 14's own mic with the sound of the iPhone with the Synco mic. The sound from the iPhone mic is far better. Actually , the sound of the Synco was awful ( the reviewer didn't notice how awful the sound of the Synco was) with a metallic feeling and a cheap noise reduction effect. I didn't take that sound comparison seriously because I believe the settings were wrong seeing the sound was really awful and far worse than in any other review. Your review tipped the balance against the Synco.

yes, I think Synco’s other wireless mics have better sound quality.
