Anyone remember Bank Holiday Monday August 1984 at Brighton?, a little 12 year old skinhead sitting on the shoulder of another big skinhead! 😀 as we all marched from the Richmond pub to the beach and through West Street, we all got locked in the subway to the beach by the old bill and they took our boot laces ! One of the best days of my youth ! ❤️

A lot of second wave skinheads (late 1970s/early 1980s) seemed very confused. Not just cos of the fascist/Nazi stuff, but also cos many of them hated mods. A lot of them were too young to remember the original skinhead days of the late 1960s and they didn't even know that skinhead started as a mod offshoot. Even some of the second wave skins who were into two-tone/ska hated mods.

unfortunately times change people change and fashion changes and we don't look how it once was but how it is now. i hated everyone and any thing that wasn't a skinhead in the late 70s and early 80s. it's only now I look back on what was before me and think wow.

@@paulturbo69 About ten years ago I met an ex-skinhead who had been like that in the early 1980s. I asked him how he felt about it looking back, and he said "It was youthful ignorance."

@@chrisr5499 I think a lot of the casuals were ex-skinheads or were the younger brothers of skinheads. I knew quite a few boys who were skinheads in 1980 (when they were aged 14/15) but had become casuals by the middle of the decade.

It sure as he'll didnt start that way with Sham69,Cockney Rejects, Angelic Upstarts ,Cocksparrer and 4skins.That was a different scene altogether .yep many WP skins went to normal oi gigs in 80s, ive been told and seen over the years even 2tone ska gigs.. don't make 2tone ska a wp scene either. Still non racist oi bands going today, old and new.

@@bobbobbing6930 no.... skinhead only non racist skinhead or some kind of patriotic. Been that way since the start. Check your history proper ,try talking to some real 60s and 70s skins from England.
