another solution is to remove the wire that has the power plug from the power brick of the nas and get a c13-c14 wire and i use it to connect the power brick of the nas to the iec port of the ups. i was told that way is bad because the c13-c14 wire provides more travel time for the power to go, which means more resistance and less power provided, therefore causing shortage. is that true? if yes then will that happen if i get the second type convertor that you used?

In all the IT departments I have worked in, I have never heard anyone mention that you should not use a c13-c14 kettle lead. I also use a couple of Synology rack mount NAS's boxes at home, which are all connected to a UPS via c13-c14 leads. So far I have never had any power issues using them. Maybe someone else can shed more light on the topic?

Is this safe to use? I read somewhere that adapters are risky for fire..

Badly-made adapters are. Using sufficiently thick cables, to cope with the current, the cables clamped so they can't pull out, and they connect well with the terminals, then things should be fine.

Brother, are these extensions safe to be used in a UPS ? They will not pose any fire hazard, will they ? Please reply!

They were EU certified at the time I posted the video and I have been using them for a couple of years without issue.

I don't want the converter, is not very stable & can get loose overtime. Can you show a video how to convert the 3-pin to a IEC C14 head in order to insert directly into the UPS?
