Martin will present a talk about a new approach for encouraging students to learn biology and giving them a chance to affect the world. By explaining the competition iGEM, he will further continue how iGEM present an opportunity for teens and young adults to take their ideas and turn them into reality with the help of synthetic biology. As an example, Martin will explain on how students from LiU iGEM can use bacteria to help with research against several diseases. Since Martin started studying Medical Biology at Linköpings University he has found an increased interest in entrepreneurship in the medical field. At this point of time he is the president of the organisation LiU iGEM where he plans to further develop the organisation to increase student interest and engagement in synthetic biology.
