Another superb piece of nostalgia to dream over. I assume Carmuirs East Junction was out of use, and that's the reason why the oil trains were running round in Stirling.Great stuff, thanks for showing.

Thanks for posting. Nice to see my favourite 37 (429) in sector livery.

Love it when that happens , I still don’t have my favourite 37 on film 😭

Brilliant video again. It's great to see the 37's and 47's with no 66's to be seen! I really miss the beautiful semaphore signals in Stirling too. The good old days when it was worth trainspotting!

All changed days now eh , was a lovely sight at Stirling with the box just off the station.

Outstanding mate. What a blast from the past! Great days and I'm glad we got to witness them, but quite sobering to see how much freight has been lost from the rails...

Great vid . Cracking clip of 4x37s on the tanks. Bont-y-Bermo was a long way from home too. 👍

Lovely, I believe I have a model 37 with the same livery as the 37's at the start. Stainless Pioneer is its loco name.

Excellent bit of footage. What was the reason the oil trains came to Stirling from Grangemouth to them double back?
@yesterdaystracks2 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate. There was a weak bridge at Carmuirs so they had to run into Stirling , run around then head Bishopbriggs / Carlisle from there , was like that for a few months

The Stirling boxes are still in use aren’t they? Semaphores included..? Great vid.
@yesterdaystracks2 жыл бұрын
No it’s all lights now but I’m not sure if the box is still there I’ve moved away from the area now , Larbert North box is still there so hopefully so are Stirlings

Another cracking video. Did you ever get down to Ayrshire for the coal traffic in the 80's and 90's?

Cheers mate, No sadly I never did, couldn’t afford much fuel back then on my wage and frankly my car might not have made the journey 🤣🤣
