5 ай бұрынDuke won their first game of the ACC conference season with an 86-66 home victory over the Orange. After not hitting a three-pointer in the first half, Duke hit all of their eight three-point attempts in the second half which helped blow the game open. Mark Mitchell scored 18 of his team-high 21 points in the first half. Jared McCain hit four three-pointers and scored 14 of his 18 points in the second half. Jeremy Roach added 17 points. Maliq Brown scored a game-high 26 points for Syracuse. Brown also grabbed seven rebounds. Judah Mintz had 18 points, six assists, four rebounds, and three steals.

We held our own in the 1st half but completely collapsed in the 2nd half… Excellent game from Maliq Brown but not much from other players 😢 Just waiting for the day that three of our starters do something (JT, CBell, NM)… Clearly they disappear in all quad 1 & 2 games…

SU close in the first half even with lots of turnovers and missing 3 or 4 layups. Unfortunately, Duke showed their superiority in the 2nd half. Su not a bad team, but can't play with the ranked teams. Still pleased with job coach is doing.

If you cant' hit the three consistently you won't win in basketball. Judah, JJ, Copeland, even Taylor and others can't answer three-point shooting. Blame Curry but the game has changed. Look at the UVA loss, three-point shooting made the difference and here again with Duke. They made non in the first half but made them all in the second half. If you don't have three point shooters, you will lose to teams that do have three point shooters.

Their only problem was holding on to Boeheim for too long and letting all his great assistants leave for HC jobs. About 5 years after they won the chip with Mello it was time for Boeheim to hang it up.
