A: I use Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro & After Effects. Photoshop for image editing and thumbnails. Premiere Pro for compositing and After Effects for motion graphics (the fancy animations).

1:12 The new reload sound for the Original is actually reusing the “Axe Swing” sound from Quake. They were kinda forced to do this, since Quake 1 doesn't have a reload function, therefore meaning that the Original never had a specific reload sound.

the sound effect makes it somewhat nostalgic Ps: Actually the sound effect was always present before the fix, if you spectated someone in third person you could heard the reload sound mixed with the default.

1:12 Fun fact. Before this change, you could still hear this specific reload sound in third person, if a Soldier with the Original equipped was reloading it and you were right in his face and had your volume basically maxed.

@@dkskcjfjswwwwwws413 And you're right. Besides the Original and the Cow Mangler, no other Soldier primaries have reloading sounds for other players. Similarly, it also happens with every Sniper primaries, except the Huntsman's drawing sound.

Syringe gun actually MELTS if you know how to aim it, I’ve fought a medic I will never forget that I swear to god had needle gun aimbot but was just extremely good at baiting you into corridors and other predictable movement.

@@seronymus It does 12 damage with max ramp up, that is not nothing to scoff about with being able to shit 40 out in one mag with fast fire-rate and then reload it all in half a second. You could theoretically kill a fully over-healed heavy or atleast gimp him heavily (no pun intended).

Huge appreciation for that one dev who is working on these bug fixes. They are small fixes, but the fact that fixes are being made means that someone (internally) still cares enough to spend their time working on the spaghetti mess.

Remember source is based on gold source and goldsrc is based on the quake engine, and that one is based on the DOOM engine. It's very old.

Oh hey, I was the one who originally noticed and fixed this Syringe Gun memory leak way back when I was working on TF2 Classic. It's been in the game since 2007 launch.

There's a similar issue with the prop ID system in Portal 2 which is used in the save-load abuse speedrun category to disable collision on certain props like doors. Not surprised it's also in TF2, albeit with different effects.

The fact that they (just one person) are unspaggetifying the code makes me happier. So many new things in TF2! We now know about The Original's original reload sound and that Sydney Sleeper has a BLU model, and more!

2:22 I had no idea how complex this issue was hahahahaha! I would keep commanding the party to do all kinds of exotic things in order to bypass the softlock of the wave like letting some gates get captured, using the *Loose Cannon to knock bots out of spawn & stalling bots along their route until the next group spawns. No matter what we tried, each attempt would get us stuck on the same section of the wave with only very rarely being a little bit before or after it.

Shounic when the game first came out friendly syringes could be "walked upon" by your team mates so if the medic pointed up and a friendly jumped down on them, they could continually jump up and ride the syringes into the sky. Maybe this is what they attempted to fix?

Friendlys obviously can't walk on syringes any more, I remember the exploit being patched only a few weeks after we discovered it.

As I understand it, the syringes had knockback on friendlies rather than being able to be used as temporary ground.

It's still in the console versions. It's how you get to the areas beyond the fences on either side of the bridge on 2Fort and by extension the skybox which is on the RED side. You have to crouch jump noclip a teleporter in the straight staircase to the basement to reach outside the courtyard of either base. Then you have a medic needle boost you right over the wall on to the roof of the main spawn. The rest is just gravity and teleporters.

I'd imagine the reason for the syringe gun creating that player list was because it originally was meant to be a silent weapon, only audible to allies? It'd fit the gimmick and conceit, and would provide an interesting harassment option for Medics without instantly signifying their position. Between team voice chat and other concerns it probably didn't test as well as it worked on paper, so they scrapped that. It's just a guess but it tracks with the data we've got.

The development team has clearly spend a lot of time figuring old stuff out, and cleaning up small messes. But while these quality of life improvements demonstrate effort and do help the general experience, they don’t really tie into the wider problems of the game. The devs most likely do what they can, and hopefully work that is yet not visible to public is taking place. Else these efforts would be widely wasteful, as the game overall is not in a state where disappearing needles is a relevant concern. But maybe they see a future where reviewing the mediguns code was absolutely worth the effort. We can hope!

bird also says update made the Chicken Kiev conflict with the hat slot. bird says this also forcefully unequips the chicken kiev from any loadout slots with existing conflicting slots and bird believes would unequip if quickswitch bugged. bird is upset and request friends to protest.

That memory leak was the reason my playermodel mods would crash, at least I think, since I saw it crashed a lot when medics were using the syringe gun, so I’m super glad to have it finally fixed.

The syringe gun is such a cool weapon and I would love to use it even more now seeing that it's getting some attention. I think it's actually a genius weapon for the medic and I managed to topscore with the blutsauger on turbine a few times. I think I have a professional killstreak kit fabricator for the syringe gun cause I liked using it, but man the crossbow's healing output is so high that it's insane to not use it, and with every fight I'm forced to rely on melee, and so I die.

Do you know if the syringe gun memory leak applied to MVM bots? I've seen medics that run the syringe gun start to experience some major performance drops near the last round. I can imagine a huge list of bots being the culprit.

tbh I really don't like the original's new sound. Just makes me think there somebody is swinging an axe nearby and it's kind of grating to listen to every time I shoot. I'd take no sound over this and that'd be more accurate to quake.

You missed a piece of information when explaining the Original reload sound. There are two sound effects for reloading in TF2, the "world" reload sound and the first-person reload sound. The "world" reload sound for the Original was always correct, it made the whoosh sound. The first-person used the stock for some reason. Now, the two are consistent.

The 4___ error would actually be a cool way to effectively cheese jump maps. Imagine waiting like 300 hours just to be able to air pogo as soldier, hypothetically infinitely.

epic gaming bug: if you disguise as someone who has a dueling minigame equipped and use the action key (h), instead of using the item you have equipped, it will use a dueling minigame (probably is affected by having one in your inventory yourself)

There is also a huge bug me and my friends have noticed on the map pl_snowycoast and a couple others. It causes multiple objects in the map to be completely invisible with only the shadow remaining. Especially noticable was the entire roof of the "Quonset Hut" right after first checkpoint was see-through. I am unsure what caused this as only some of my friends had this issue. I updated the game normally and varified the files but i think its still a thing.

They could fix the manmelter's visual bugs, they could fix the fists of steel making gain your medic more uber even after you put them off, they could fix the ullapool caber sometimes not exploding and damaging anyone even when you hit them, but they instead replace the reload sound of the original with a jarring "woosh".
