i was big on SOAD at 14-15 years old. now 22, my interests and tastes have changed for the most part but i still come back to this every once in a while and i still firmly believe this is their best ever song. the "phony people come to pray"-bridge part will probably send chills down my spine for the rest of my life every time i hear it. there's no other song like this one, in the most beautifully wistful way.

I've love system of a down for almost 20 years, I'm under 30. I had someone very close to me who almost "made it" go to hollywood and come back completely broken. I ended up losing them. Probably one of the closest people to me. I almost quit music. This song brings a tear to my eye every time but gives me so much inspiration to do my own art

The old Pewdiepie outro ;_; (from like 7-9 years ago or something) Takes me back to when I was about 11 years old watching horror stuff, friday with pewds, non-horror gaming vids, just goofing. I didn't really know English back then but I think I understood enough due to just context I guess.I learned English from Pewds and Smosh lmao. Never did I watch everything he put out cuz I was very selective with my entertainment. Used to watch some of the horror stuff in the evening and drink cola (which I didn't know contained caffeine) so I had insomnia for most of my childhood. It was thrilling though. The non-horror games and other stuff were always my favorite past time. The best playthroughs were Shadow of the Colossus and Dark Souls. Those were honestly quite uneasy times for other reasons. I don't know when exactly but during high school or middle school (I don't know what they're called in English) I stopped following Pewds' stuff. When corona became a thing I started watching his stuff again. Super different now but it's okay though. Good times. Imma go and sleep, it's midnight and I haven't slept in about 36 hours damn. Last night I played amnesia for like 2h, was fun. I'm so delirious rn. I'll probably edit this comment later to be more coherent or just delete it. Tomorrow I'll start re-watching the old let's plays and friday with pewds series and just reminisce about the past and maybe cry. Ok, good night.

This song was in my head when I woke up today. I am taking notes of such songs for the past couple years that plays in my head when I wake up. If I did not forget to take a note before, this is the first SOAD song that makes into the list. When this album came out, I was at high school, we were listening SOAD everyday and everywhere and already was a big fan. We didn't have English to undertand lyrics but we were memorizing some parts and all the melodies stuck with us. It was good old days we all wanted to pass quickly but now we all wished to live again. I still don't know what is the most of lyrics, I am also bad at extracting and understanding lyrics by listening when it is sang in a music form but even if I don't understand, I understand it is a beautiful song and melody which I can't come across nowadays; it must be like one in a million to listen something good if you are lucky.
