Systematic Search is a method used to help maintain orientation while doing primary search in a building. This method must be evaluated by your crew and if determined to be safe and effective, can be incorporated into your search toolbox. There are some solid benefits to using it, such as ensuring a thorough search of the building and helping to map out the building in your head to maintain orientation, but there are also some drawbacks to it, with it being a less targeted search, as you search one room completely before moving on to the next room, instead of moving directly to the target area. This search method can be used when appropriate, or certain elements can be used and others dropped if necessary. Please train with it and evaluate it for your own use.
