Most people will say that they feel sorry for the person who dies of some disease, but when an addict dies and someone commits suicide, most people are more like: "It was their choice; why would I feel bad for them?" And in the face of death, in fact, we are all equal. Death does not care how you leave this world. Likewise, "Why have you forsaken me in your eyes?" is a cry to God with regret about why he abandons some people, allows them to suffer, and does not help them, even though it is his "role." That's why we only cry when someone is innocent, pure, or "when angels deserve to die." I think that when we "put on makeup," it's actually a mask that we wear in front of people to hide our inner demons.

But I’d like to think its more about drugs, Self-harm and as the lyrics has said “Self-righteous suicide” It helps the song was originally called “Suicide” too. There is a good amount of implications to cover with this song. However, the analogy your brung definitely makes sense for this song since its supposed to bring the whole thing from how we are all regarded differently when we pass. Basically, lets say someone were a drug addict and committed suicide. Some other person would say something like “He deserved it because he abused drugs” which makes more sense for “When angels deserve to die”. Also, the line “You wanted to” basically ties into the songs message, but it also gives the sound of a judgmental onlooker, giving the impression that someone is involved with this other person doing drugs. I also find the God part interesting, because in Christianity, Suicide and Self-harm is a sin because we shouldn’t damage the bodies God gave us with our own hands or will.
