Just got the pard ta32 19mm and couldnt believe how good it is. Had an axiom 2 by pulsar and the pard is better in my honest opinion plus got it for 700$ less than the pulsar.

Yeah mate I'm pretty happy with mine. I know you can get better images but you start paying a lot! I use it for spotting animals. That's it. And it does that really well.

Wicked, thanks for the comparison as it’s great to see the differences in image between thermal and night vision. I’m considering buying a thermal scanner to spot targets and a night vision scope for shooting, although the Thermion2 looks amazing at night but no good for daytime hunting.

Yeah mate for me thermal spotter and night vision is a good combo. It's also cost effective compared to also having a thermal scope. The sytongs are pretty affordable compared to other options.

Great comparison! Agree with all you say. I still have loan of a Pulsar 2.5x thermal. I still haven't locked what I'm going to buy as there aren't many to choose from around the $2k mark with 1-2x mag and good quality and available in NZ. I do use the focus on the Pulsar, so haven't tried one without yet. One thing I did observe while out possuming was that the wider field of view could cause a problem with exposure when looking at tree tops when the sky makes up 50% or more of the image. I notice it was washing out a bit. TBH, IR and torch lights are pretty good for possums. The HT60 is locked onto my shopping list, but have been distracted by PCP rifles which turns out is quite a steep learning curve for me. Ultimately, I'm looking for something that creates less risk from ricochets compared to the 22lr around buildings and livestock. Still learning what the possibilities are there.

Yeah I like the look of good pcps but not the price tag. I find sub .22s pretty good but am very conscious of background. Things like plastic water tanks! Just means you gotta work for a safe angle. Sytongs great bang for buck in my view.

@@kentoutdoorsinnz7014 Yeah, they can sure add up with all the extras, but they retain a fair bit of a value, so all is not lost. Shooting possums 30m up a tree leaves a lot of room for a wandering .22 slug. Some lifestyle blocks have no safe angle for the 22LR, but I need to work out how much safer the PCP actually is. Plenty of homework to do. I'll see how I get on with the Sytong. One step at a time.

Hi Kent, welcome from sunny Ashburton. My set up is nearly the same! Tikka T1X in 22Lr, Arken scope, but a Sytong HT-77 clip on, which is a day/night unit. Regarding the Pard, I have just bought (today) a Pard TA 32-25 LRF. I was staggered as the price of the Pard, I couldn't pass it up. Are you Nth or Sth?

Hey buddy. Na I'm in the north island mate. Woo they come with lrf now. That's cool. I've upgraded scope to sytong ht60 lrf with ballistics. Very handy shooting slow bullets like 740fps.

Greetings from Russia. I have the same monocular Pard TA 32-35. For some reason, the picture hangs on it, very often. What could it be?

Hi there. It could just be calibrating? When you turn them on they will click and temporarily freeze the image from time tontime as the unit adjusts to provide the best heat reading possible. Mine does it and it's completely normal.

Use menu go to night mode (black and white) and ir will turn on using buttons. Don't remember which one off hand.

It's the button with flag on it. Just got mine - not the most intuitive device, but hopefully it will get easier. It even comes with a handy EU power plug! Is that what you get Kent?

@@kiwicam6419 hmm not sure. I use rechargeables in a separate charger. Yeah you don't get a lot of instructions but once you use it a bit you get familiar with the buttons you use a lot. I leave mine in night mode so when it's on the laser is always at 2. Only buttons I use are record and sometimes up the mag for longer shots. Be interested to see how you find it Cam.

@@kentoutdoorsinnz7014 That's true - I have a separate charger too. I'm finding that I want to mount it back further than it wants to go - I don't have a picatinny. I need to press my eye right in on the eyecup to see the full screen. It's been a long day, so I'll try again tomorrow.

@@kentoutdoorsinnz7014 I was in the process of trying to figure out how to sight it when I restarted it and it came up with a static looking screen. Sometimes with horizontal lines and other times with static dots. Have you seen that before? Basically, the screen doesn't show anything, including the menu.
