This video showed me that everyone needs to enjoy their younger years before the clock is broken which means it time for adulthood. That why she used summer as an example because we never want it to end. We want to live in the moment and burn daylight before it to late. To late cuz we have pieces and pages (bills). Working a job that doesn't value u. Enjoy your life strangers, live it up to the potential. :)

As an ex stripper who grew up going to Girl Scout camps getting in fights in strip clubs and getting fired this video and song always brings me to tears. This video/song reminds me of the joy of being little and feeling the joy of nature and friends, only to grow up and being forced into a bitter harsh world, and realizing time is of the essence and turning my life around from beautiful pain into redemption. Now I’m expecting my first child 👶🏾 and my life is so much different, but I don’t regret any of it because it all made me who I am today. How the time has flown by....

She got knocked out by some girl at the strip club she worked at. In the song she is talking about hard work, getting through the day, working shorty jobs and how hard it is. She also mentions a strip club. That’s where the ending comes into the song. When she got knocked out, she dreamed of being free and having fun at a camp and having innocence and her life back, she dreamed of what she really wanted. Then she wakes up at the end to see she is still at the strip club and she finds out what happened to her and that the camp was a dream. It has to do with the song because they both talk about hard work, life struggles, wanting to be free and working shitty jobs.

The Broken Clock concept represents the idea of stopping time so someone won’t grow up to quick. The camp scene represents her childhood reality and the strip club represents her adult reality. The girl saying wake up at camp is the idea of being told wake up for the morning as kid and the girl saying wake in the strip club shows her being told to wake up after being knocked out it shows the difference of wake as a child to being told wake up in adult life.

Also, it's a throwback to "School Daze" by Spike Lee when one of the characters yelled "Wake uuuuuup!" at the end (maybe the beginning, too, I'm not sure. I haven't watched it in a while). It's like a wake up call to reality or to the idea of letting time go by and you don't enjoy life.

I love how in the end she still has good friends who support her. This video made me so emotional. It sucks to see kids who have so much potential and life, end up in situations as adults no mother would wish for them. listening to this again and finally understanding the meaning got me in tears. Im just 17 but I already feel lost. Adults really screaming into your ear to have high ambitions but it really hurts when you know you'll never achieve them as you grow older. pray i can still change my future skskjsk edit: I’m 20 now and unfortunately pursuing a degree I’m not passionate about. Life has its ups and downs. I met the right people, and cut off the wrong ones. I sound so old now, but life gets better as you learn from your mistakes :) It won’t go the way you want, but it’s up to you to redirect your path! I’m thinking maybe the camp scenes were her reminiscing on childhood nostalgia, when things were carefree and innocent...before she had to enter the cutthroat world of exotic dancing. nobody seems to get the weekend video. warning, a whole book report (not really) is coming your way when you press “read more”. the whole entire song is about her (SZA) being a side chick. the lyrics after the first chorus are “i gotta say i’m in the mood for a little bit more of that, i mean i’m saying what kinda deal is two days? i need me at least ‘bout four of them, more of them, more you, on me, on us, just tell me you want me, yeah” she misses “her” man, but since she cant interfere with his main relationship, she can’t do anything about it. she feels seductive, but again, can’t do anything. therefore, she’s dancing around in lingerie in isolation. she wants to “satisfy” him, but can’t, and is feeling alone. hence, the video.

I'm still 18 but felt hard with this song. my childhood fill with bully and journey to end my struggles. while my teen year is having less friends and less memorial fun. actually I've no memory that really hits me with friends, or love, I don't even do relationships. and now, my 18 is filled with study and working. This music video makes sense. She got knocked out at her job "the strip club " which she references she doesn't wanna go back to. While unconscious she escapes to a daydream, probably to a time when she was a kid and could be free and have no obligations. The dream let's her not think about the shit she deals with while being an adult and trying to form relationships. At least that's what would make sense

The song is called Broken Clocks. “All I got is these broken clocks, I ain’t got no time just burning daylight.” She’s at Camp Ctrl having a blast, not worried about a thing, living like we used to as kids. Time is not a factor, just burning daylight. Having real life, adult struggles but taking the day off and just chilling. Also, the girl who knocked her out represents life knocking you down. While she was down she took some time to just chill out (Broken Clocks). That’s what I take from the video.
