This walking tour was recorded in Szczyrk on a beautiful spring day in May 2024. Szczyrk is a small town with about 5,700 residents, known for its tourism and recreational activities in southern Poland. It is located south of Bielsko-Biała and northwest of Żywiec, in the valley of the Żylica River, at an altitude of about 470 meters above sea level. However, the highest point in the town is 1,257 meters above sea level on Mount Skrzyczne.
This is a place on the map of Poland where you can fall in love completely. The town is surrounded by picturesque mountains - the Beskids, specifically the Silesian Beskids in the Outer Western Carpathians. The highest and most popular nearby peak is the previously mentioned Skrzyczne (1,257 meters above sea level), which is accessible by a cable car. Other notable peaks in the area include Klimczok (1,117 meters above sea level), Malinowska Skała (1,152 meters above sea level), and Magura (1,109 meters above sea level).
In addition to its beautiful landscapes and extraordinary nature, the town offers numerous attractions for both winter and summer. In winter, the town attracts tourists with modern ski resorts that have a total length of 40 kilometers of trails and the immensely popular Skalite Ski Jumping Complex. There is also a swimming pool, the Central Sports Center, a cross-country bike track, cross-country skiing trails, and numerous hiking trails.
