Күн бұрынTūhura Papatūānuku Geo Noho is a marae-based science wānanga which aims to improve the access of science resources for young Māori to explore and learn more about the environment (te taiao). The week of learning aims to get the tauira (students) excited about science, te reo Māori (Māori language), and Mātauranga Māori (Māori knowledge).

Man. I wish this learning was available when my son was going to school. He had to go on a two month project K and he loved it. He was excited and full of love and empathy. Never settled back into a classroom structure because the knowledge he found in Papatuanuku, is felt. It resonates.

Without wanting to seem rude or dismissive.... This makes me think the youngsters up north will get highly trained then leave. Because there will be no work there for them. Nice idea, but what is the future proofing behind the bicultural learning? What will stop the stripping of the next generation from their land? An "enduring way" ?????
