Pharell makes some great points about this new music and making songs with no substance based off of popular words. This interview actually helped me understand that I need to, lately I have been thinking of switching up on a few records and doing more of this mumble repetative rap, haven't been able to bring myself to do it as of yet but i see these kids just made their first song yesterday now they're trending.. it looks good, but S/O to these men cause after actually listening to the words they were saying im just going to continue doing what im doing period

18:00 I agree with Pharrell on this, this is why I listen to an album, preferably by one of my favorite artists, in its entirety without looking at the features or song titles. You have a completely different experience than when you know everything beforehand. Conceptual albums like GKMC was a must. I only knew about the single but the rest was so amazing

The song I like the most that these two great artist collaborated on was T.I Album "King" track was "GoodLife", T.I had a cold verse on that track, small verse on that track hit deep, he said Cause the Prisons aren't full, and the Reaper ain't biased, Anybody telling ya different a damn liar. That is all 100% facts. The next track T.I and Pharrell collaborated on was from T.I Album "Urban Legend", track was called "Freak Though"

It confuses me why more artist don't disclose information about the music industry. To music consumers the music industry is like some mystic realm that only the people inside it knows the inner workings of it.

1:06 - 1:10 - No, sorry to be a know-it-all, but T.I's first album dropped in October 2001 "I'm Serious" when he was 20 going on 21, meaning he was working on it most likely throughout summer 2000, early 2001. And his birthday is October 25, 1980...so he was 20. Pharell was 27/28 years old in 2001. So 20 and 28 :P

At 10:20, I think a few of us know which song Pharrell and TI are referring to. I wasn't too impressed with it's limited lyrical content. So his point is valid. Sad part is the song is very popular among the folks living in urban neighborhoods as a slogan by the younger listeners who are just surprised a song using a slang word, well...consider the source. People like it in the hood, but that demographic is a smaller market that these artists cater to. TI and Pharrell are talking about the higher art form expressed, recorded, which appeals to an even larger demographic of listeners from all ethnic backgrounds or cultures, more downloads, than those in my area of LA, who usually add such a song as their Android phone's ring tone from Metro PCS. "The People's" cell phone provider. ATT is for those with a higher income bracket, slightly. Loving this "real talk", for a change. You work with the artists, and if his vision doesn't fly, not your fault. You stepped aside for the artist's vision, since you and they are collaborating. Pharrell steers the project into the direction he thinks best, but just like Robin Thicke, admitting that during the "Blurred Lines" sessions, he was mostly drunk. Did his vocals, Pharrell steps out of the way and focuses on the goal. Pharrell did do most of the work on that hit. Yet Robin is out front pushing the song. Like a contractor, hired to redesign your kitchen, bathroom, their workmanship, your vision. Next project...( Oh, but for his personal projects, Pharrell always does his thing to perfection. I also think his collaboration with Daft Punk, was a learning experience, as are all projects from beginning to end. It helped sharpen his skills in producing since he referred to them as "The Robots" in one UK interview I watched. But he described their work on a song, ("Get Lucky") as the element that really made it the global hit it became and still is. Enjoyed watching this. Just like a conversation between two talented people and we get to watch. I think he's also a help to TI's frustration in being translated properly. He gets him. Or any client lucky enough to have him work with them. Then then "Therapy" sessions we all love, after the work is done, allows two men, descendants of America's legacy of slavery, to sit together in a quality recording studio and bond over common concerns. Just a chat session, like some of us only get at the local barber shop, probably. Ladies get it at the beauty shop or while getting those extensions sewn in, so I get it. Real people just trying to get somewhere. And, yeah, sometimes you do have to say, "get out my way, please" coming through. That's for the haters who want to keep the crawfish down in the bucket with the rest of their kind. Excuse me...LOL
