So wonderful to see the chickens, puppies, dogs & cats running around free, eating with the humans, eating all the scraps. They probably don't have foxes. The foxes got all my chickens when I had them free in my 5 acre yard.

There are many breeds of fox all over China. In Guangxi Province where Grandma lives, the most prevalent fox is the red fox.

Kim Griffiths, She is not speaking Cantonese. Cantonese is spoken by the people of Guangdong (formerly Canton) province snd of Hong Kong. She is speaking the Guangxi regional language. Why should a Guangxi person speak Cantonese? Where I live in south east Asia we have a small community of Quangxi people who are a very hardworking/resourceful people. They speak Quangxi among themselves but speak Csntonese and Hokkien with the rest of us bcs the community around them speak mostly Cantonese. I know Cantonese and two other Chinese regional languages - Hokkien/Fujian (this is the language spoken by my parents and extended family bcs we originste from Fujian province in China ) and Teochew.

It's awesome to see grandma going out to harvest the bounties of nature to create such delicious and .fresh food for her family. and I believe the translator who wrote the subtitles meant it was Dudu's daughter. If it was her son it would have been a medical miracle. 😀

The sweet gourd is good for health, thanks for your video, I know more recipes about sweet gourd. My mom uses sweet gourd to cook a sauce for marinating pork before she cooks braised pork. Love from Vietnam.

這種水果叫木鱉瓜，記得小時候我媽拿這種木鱉瓜做甜點，很好吃。葉子還可以打湯，清熱解毒，以前幾乎每家院子都有菜地果樹，后來到處都蓋樓房，平房逐漸消失。居住平房是兒時最美好的回憶。
