10 years Later and its still one of the most insanely artistic korean music videos ever made. Theres so many art references, film references, eastereggs, etc. T.O.P. really needs to come back to show us more of this artistic side to him. He'll easily top the charts/media with his style and concepts.

Dada is from Dadaism, a satirical art movement formed in negative reaction to the horrors of WWI. Doom is synonymous with destruction. The nuclear bomb, apes, and skeletons symbolize the extinction of humankind. It's a metaphor for how the world [mass media] tries to destroy a person's individuality, but their art will be preserved and used to inspire future generations (the apes discover a mic = T.O.P's music). The giant baby is the innocence of his artistic integrity. IDK the lyrics but this was my interpretation of the MV!

Divina Commedia It’s such a mature take on flexing skills and showing personality and taste. I’m just floored every time I hear/see it, because he’s holding back, it really is about making a really good song - building and showing nuance, not so much about passing out from lack of oxygen, but he let’s us know he could go there. That’s how to stand the test of time.

This song is aging really well. It sounds good 10 years later and will still sound good in 10 years from now. It was very "out there", outside of the trends, which is a risky bet but in this case it paid off really well. TOP can be proud of what he achieved as an artist.

I don’t understand Korean people and idols, as far as I know, they never take TOP as their role model or idol of their music career or rap world. But, they follow TOP’s path, and transforming underground rapper to idol rapper. And the biggest thing is, every idol group has a member of deep voice and talented one responsible for rapper of this group. This is the blueprint of TOP. Why Korean are reluctant to admit that TOP is one of their inspirations.

Right?! Tho he actually IS a son of a rich and influential family, both in military and the arts. His father is high ranking military official, so it's rare to see him in public or photos with his family, while on his mother's side he has three known elders who are influential traditional artists in SK, one of them is Kim Whanki, pioneer of Korean abstract painting, whose painting you can see in this music video itself. Even everyone in his own family studied arts. Apparently T.o.p being in the entertainment industry was his form of rebelling back then. But as you can see in his works, he was able to reconcile his artistic roots and passion in music when he got older. That's just heartwarming.

Thanks for this comment, just wanted to write that. It think this is one of the best tracks, and MVs, in K-pop. I am amazed how they planned harmonics on simple syllables in the chorus. Featured this track in my 2014 thesis. Interesting that the groups of that time mostly vanished and trends developed differently that I've been predicting.

T.O.P is not someone who needs our sympathy. No need to say poor baby. He knows what kind of art he wants to create and he create it without apology. Art cannot and should not be dictated by anyone. And if anyone believes that art is something confined and limited then please go study the history of the world's greatest artists! The playwrights, the poets, the musicians, the composers, the painters, the sculptors...the best of the best thought outside the box. They expressed emotions both light and dark, they explored the human psyche, and created works that evoked our imagination. T.O.P does just that. This man is an artist in every fiber of his body. So, to those expressing sympathy please save it. There is not a single member of BB who does not hold their own or express their artistic freedom. umm... actually he does get tremendous attention probably not as much as the active days of 2007-2011 or 2012. But i think most of times, people are way too focused on his good looks...though he has many other talents..For example, in comment section under his mv or the latest commercial video, many only talk about how handsome or hot he is. That's just one thing i noticed when looking for his stuffs to enjoy some of his music.
